Should Dak and the offense play in the pre season?

Before you all rip my head off about the topic, would it hurt the starting offense to run maybe just a drive and park it afterwards!? Go out for ONE drive, try and build some cohesion on the offense, and proceed to let the backups finish the game?

If so, is there a point in the pre season where we should do this, maybe the first game and that's it, maybe the second. The last game no way in hell, please give your thoughts with an open mind!

YES! Seems like they are always sluggish week one when they don't. We don't play the Giants week one we play a a harder opponent and we play them on the road so we need to be ready to go. That being said, we all know Dak and some others won't play a down.

I think preseason is overrated for veterans so I’ll say I really don’t care if the 1s play or not.

If there is a goal that the coaches really want to accomplish by playing starters then go for it but I do think injury risk shoots up in preseason when you have veterans working on techniques/timing/etc against fringe players going all out like it’s the Super Bowl because this is the difference in them making a few $100k or going back home to make minimum wage bagging groceries.

I think fans care way more about preseason than coaches do because they’ve been football starved for the last 6 months.

I wouldn't risk 55 million so i keep Rayne out, but that's just me.

Put Rush or Lance with the starting offense just so this new Oline can get real game time to play as a unit.

Having said that, the entire D, including Parsons and DLaw should play.....just as long as some of them aren't too tired

What if teams stated they're going to play their starters a series so the other team knows to avoid playing against cringe players like you mentioned

The coaches need to see some of these guys in game situations, other than practice to see what's working.....especially the LB corp where we have 2 that have never seen an NFL game but are going to be DEPENDED on very heavily this season.

I don’t think preseason has anything to do with the regular season….only reward you get for playing preseason is getting hurt.

Perhaps he's riding a schizophrenic wave?.....you caught him at the crest of the wave
Yeah this week (and I have to slow down posting due to dominating in the paint like Shaq), he's shown me a side of him I thought I'd NEVER see!

Back on topic, get the starting offense in for a quick series and they're done!!!

This I agree with. I would for sure get rookies and FAs a few series. I’m far less concerned about a guy like Dak getting in these games.

In addition to what you said it’s a good opportunity to see how the cowboys function on a game day and get players a snapshot of how the cowboys do pregame, after series conversations, etc.

I do think it’s important for guys new to the team.

Maybe, but so many guys get held out because they have a hangnail it still probably wouldn’t be true.

I just don’t get the feeling that veterans who have a roster spot locked down really care all that much.

I think the starters should play just 1 series in the 2nd game of the pre-season. I agree with big dog cowboy that they always look sluggish in their 1st regular season game. I know people keep saying why risk injury, but man, how many of our players get injured during practice? So, are we going to stop practices now?
