Should we care about the Pro-Bowl?

It seems year in and year out that there are simply too many deserving players missing out on being selected to the Pro-bowl and too many questionable selections. I've gotten to the point where I expect a stupid decision in this area and I no longer give a rat's rump who gets to play in this meaningless game. As a Cowboy's fan, I'll have to admit that LA got in based on his rep for a couple of times, but that was not nearly as glaring as the Deangelo Hall selection. He has managed to self - promote himself to a position he clearly does not deserve and it only confirms in my mind that this process is a crock of **** . Between this process and the HOF selections lead me to choose to watch the games and believe in what I see, and not what someone else feels. :chainsaw:

I care about our guys getting in because it shows up on their resume 20 and 30 and years after that.

These kind of things help great players get remembered.

Newman could be 1 of the greatest in Cowboys history and it would be nice to get recognition from outsiders as well.

Its fun but ultimately I rarely watch it, probably because so many Cowboys get snubbed from attending.

I don't think that I've watched the probowl in about 10 years or more (as a matter of fact, I cannot remember when the last time I even tried watching it)...I just don't care for watered down football...

I like for the Cowboy players to get recognition, but, that's about it for me...

Yeah forget the game.

Watcht the highlights cause you can see RW hitting Todd Heap a dozen times.

But the recognition part is what matters to me.

Would be nice for kids 40 years from now see Terence Newman in a book or a show 1 day as multiple returner to the Pro Bowl as he deserves it, unlike Hall.

I actually cringe when Cowboys take shots in this meaningless exhibition game, i think of Robert Edwards the pro bowl Patriot runningback who tore his leg up and ended his career doing one of the extra events outside of the game, real freaky thing, to get hurt in much less just at an all-star game would be awful.

The Pro Bowl is a joke, frankly if they didn't have the game would anyone actually miss it?

All all-star games are just glam fringe, they help to label players however. We all are quick to bestow the title of pro bowler upon a player we think has played honorabley.

The only reason I care is because it seems like its important to the players to get the recognition they deserve. It urks me how they talk about the league wanting players that arent brash, or celebrate excessively yet all the publicity goes to guys like C. Johnson, TO and D. Hall. You have great character guys like C. Bailey and T. Newman getting very little press. The league needs to do a better of promoting those type of players.

Yeah know why is it that if Newman is so better than Hall that he can't beat him out for the Pro Bowl?

I mean two thirds of the vote are Coaches and Players...Who you would think would know who is good and who is not. Accounting for the BS snubs like they don't like you like Owens. I'm assuming that Newman is liked.

Not ripping on you but just asking a question because I really don't understand it.

I used to watch the games...But now I could care less.

I just hope that the Cowboys players that make it don't get hurt.

No really--to me it is only for the fans and players to have fun who can attend the game......not fun for me after the season--I could care less imo

Was he the guy that hurt his ankle or leg playing beach volleyball?

I really don't know. I just don't get it.

But since two thirds of the vote is Coaches and players...Maybe he's not that highly regraded as we think.? Within the league.

Hall 54 Tackles, 4 INTs
Newman 58 Tackles, 1 INT.

Enough said.

That means nothing Owens had more TD's that Driver and Boldin.

But he didn't get in.

To be honest I don't really care for the Pro Bowl that much.

Exactly.

The NFL cant say stats matter for DBs but do not matter for WRs named Terrel Owens.

So yes. The PB is a joke.

Just sucks cause this kind of stuff gets some much needed recognition.

Its almost like a spit in the face.
