A defense that I can trust to close out a game, and / or take it over.

Used to be we had a lead, I never trusted the defense to keep it. Now we can.

That’s why teams like the Rams and 49ers trade their first round picks. Because a good team is going to pick later and if you have a window to win a title you are best served by stretching the window for a title. Eventually you will have to pay the piper but that’s deferred.
