The 12 (or Maybe 13) Teams That Could Actually Win Super Bowl LVII
Our annual exercise aimed at separating the NFL’s real contenders from everyone else.

Dallas Cowboys
A favorite of editor and podcast co-host Gary Gramling, the Cowboys have one of the five best quarterbacks in football; one of the game’s most sought-after play-callers; a defensive coordinator (Dan Quinn) who, a year into his head coaching rehab assignment, was one of the hottest names on the market; a game-changing, positionless pass rusher and a running game that should be solid enough to complement the times Dak Prescott isn’t hurling the ball to CeeDee Lamb. While this team has let us down before, Prescott is now more than a year removed from a devastating ankle injury and Dallas has a cleaner route than most to the postseason through an NFC East that shouldn’t offer much pushback outside of the Eagles. Last year, they were one wanton tackling official away from a possible NFC Championship Game trip to Lambeau where, in those conditions, anything could have happened.

I'm really not liking the Ravens pick.

I just don't understand the Eagles as their wildcard pick. Their offense can pivot from a Patriots style offense to a Ravens style? Since when? Their quarterback has literally never shown he can do that. He's not going to go from not being a pocket passer at all, to Joe Montana in one off season.

If all the pieces perform as advertised, than on paper they have all they need win it. But they don't play the games on paper.

Most of what he says is true, but its the rosy viewpoint. Problem is this team is still to thin to do well with a few big injuries. We are relying on a lot of young players and most have to turn into good players for us to have a shot.

Ravens has massive injuries last year. Jackson has shown that he can put up some big passing numbers in the right offense.

On a good year, I can see them squeaking by if they were in the NFC. But I give them no chance to get through the AFC.

Maybe it was injuries. I wasn't keeping track. The one game that sticks in my mind was that game against the Dolphins last year. The Ravens looked absolutely awful and the Dolphins were blitzing on every down.

Wow, that easy route to the playoffs in the NFCE is NOT an advantage. We've seen this before. As for Dak and KM, both have not provided much confidence they will come up big in the Big Game. One self destructs and the other has no clue on scheming against a NFL playoff caliber team. DQ and his defense is not enough at this point to carry this team to the SB.
OH well, there must be a sale on rose colored glasses somewhere.

Eagles and Ravens get smoke blown around them just about every year. I don't see it either.
But I guess some in the media, many in the media are in a teams pocket.

That was a pretty glowing write up…even some built in ref excuses. I do think if all goes right it could come true. I just thought last year we had a lot break right. We need to finally break out.

Which Jones family member wrote this? The 6 and 5 record outside the division last year is much closer to reality.
