--------------------------------
While the Washington Commanders have been busy acquiring over-the-hill running backs, in a bid to put the old gang back together apparently, they’ve also checked in on the possibility of a quarterback still in his prime.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that the Commanders made an inquiry with the Philadelphia Eagles regarding Donovan McNabb, the soon-to-be ex-Eagles quarterback. At least we’re assuming McNabb is soon to be out of Philly.
That’s the way the Eagles are treating the situation.
It is difficult to fathom McNabb making the jump to an NFC East rival, the only NFC East club currently in need of a quarterback. But if the Commanders could land McNabb with their second-round draft pick and then address left tackle with the No. 4 overall pick, it would alleviate some issues right there.
Before you go saying there is no way it could ever happen, consider that Sonny Jurgensen spent the first seven seasons of his career in Philadelphia.
Then he forged a Hall of Fame legacy for himself in Washington, where he played another 11 seasons.
Still, we highly doubt Andy Reid would sign off on any deal that would keep
McNabb in the division where he could play the Eagles twice a season.
--------------------------------------
If Andy Reid ever lets him go to the Skins I hope they beat the Eagles 70-0 every time out.
