--------------------------------

While the Washington Commanders have been busy acquiring over-the-hill running backs, in a bid to put the old gang back together apparently, they’ve also checked in on the possibility of a quarterback still in his prime.

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports that the Commanders made an inquiry with the Philadelphia Eagles regarding Donovan McNabb, the soon-to-be ex-Eagles quarterback. At least we’re assuming McNabb is soon to be out of Philly.

That’s the way the Eagles are treating the situation.

It is difficult to fathom McNabb making the jump to an NFC East rival, the only NFC East club currently in need of a quarterback. But if the Commanders could land McNabb with their second-round draft pick and then address left tackle with the No. 4 overall pick, it would alleviate some issues right there.

Before you go saying there is no way it could ever happen, consider that Sonny Jurgensen spent the first seven seasons of his career in Philadelphia.

Then he forged a Hall of Fame legacy for himself in Washington, where he played another 11 seasons.

Still, we highly doubt Andy Reid would sign off on any deal that would keep
McNabb in the division where he could play the Eagles twice a season.
--------------------------------------

If Andy Reid ever lets him go to the Skins I hope they beat the Eagles 70-0 every time out.

Are they trying to resurrect the "Over the Hill Gang"?

I hope they trade him there. The last thing the Skins need to be doing is wasting resources whilst they try to rebuild.

If Shanahan isn't changing up his offensive philosophy that much then I think McNabb would be perfect for them :eek:hboy:

If the price was right I would trade Mcnabb to the Commanders if I was Andy..Who better to game plan against Mcnabb than the person who coached him his entire NFL career.

Rojan is right on here...Reid would just look at the Cowboys' defense and do the same thing... dare him to throw it short and intermediate to beat you: and he can't. He never has been able to systematically drive his team down field, consume the clock and win. Some of it's been his poor receivers, most of it's been his total lack of accuracy.

People were immediately saying that was a bad move for the Eagles on draft day.

Spencer is already really good. I would compare it to the 49ers trading Charles Haley to us and making us that much better.

I wouldn't go that far.

Is that Craig Morton? And didn't Morton go from the Cowboys to the Broncos then the Giants?

No, Cowboys -> Giants -> Broncos. He went to the Super Bowl with Dallas and Denver.

He's also famous for being the guy between Dandy Don and Roger the Dodger.
