We need Zeke like we need hemorrhoids and hot sauce-induced diarrhea simultaneously. Zeke is freaking worthless. I’m not buying what these yutzes are trying to sell us. Nope.

Good article from Mickey on Mick Shots.

Skip Peete say Thunder and Lightning has been over used. He looks at Zeke and Tony more like a sledgehammer and sword. Good read, for his explanation of it.

Some other tidbits in here as well, TE's, Hankins, other info.

"Years ago, I'd say 'Thunder and Lightning' but that's been used 80 million times. I always think of it now as a sledgehammer and a sword. The sledgehammer is crushing and pounding, and the sword comes in and slices you up." My guess is you can figure out just who the "sledgehammer" is and just who is the "sword."

Nice to see that Skip finally figured it all out. That he needed both guys. Too bad it took him almost 4 years to do it.

Pollard is NOT a 20-25 carry a game type back, so its prudent to have another back or two to help ease his burden. And preferably you would want a hammer type guy that can get the dirty yards, short yardage, and GL stuff.

But here's the elephant in the room that Skip cant talk about. Pollard is the side of the coin with the talent. The side that is hardest to find and is toughest to replace. The hammer part, the Zeke part is a dime a dozen. And we certainly dont need to pay 19 million for that side of the coin.

Not hard to find a short yardage guy that can handle 10 or so carries and average 4 ypc. Not tough at all. Probably sign one for 2 or 3 million per year tops in the offseason.

Se we need both types but we dont need Zeke. Zeke is easily replaceable. And we certainly dont need his monster salary.

I get you need 2 backs and Pollard can’t carry the ball 25 times, but why are people talking about Zeke like he’s early Marion Barber. IMO Pollard gets just as many second effort yards, and he has home run potential every snap. Honestly Zeke looks like he’s in the process of falling down when he hits the hole if there is any traffic. Yes I concede Zeke is good in pass pro, and you can’t do anything about that contract, but it really feels like some serious self-denial to claim that Zeke as a pure runner is on the level of Pollard. He’s just not and hasn’t been since 2019. Heck Malik Davis looked a lot like Zeke out there as far as production

Here’s the perfect example: Go back to Pollards 55 yd TD….He has to run wide, wait for the perfect moment, get past arm tackles and then hit the afterburners. I defy anyone to show me how Zeke even gets more than 2 yards on that same carry. It’s probably no gain or TFL.

Zeke seems to hit the holes later than Tony, so he doesn't get through as clean, but they were opening some really big holes for TP against the Bears. Zeke likely wouldn't have gotten the big runs Tony did, but he wouldn't have looked like garbage either.

Zeke looks like garbage because he's slow and overpaid.
