Snap counts are always more fun after a win…
Interesting notes from the game-
  • Rookie TE Tyler Ferguson had 34 snaps- was in on 87% of offensive plays
  • Zeke had 42 snaps (67%) and Pollard had 24 (39%)
  • FA LB Anthony Barr had 61 snaps (87%) which is a good sign that he is helping immediately.
  • Sam Williams only had 10 snaps - up from 6 last week.
What else jumped out to you?

Trysten Hill is down to 10, i believe that validates my analysis from last week that he was garbage...lol

Definitely not looking good for him. The problem remains that he's still not good against the run. That wouldn't matter as much if he was consistently disruptive against the pass, but he still only flashes a few times.

SWs snaps will increase over time. He is still very raw and is adjusting to the pro game. Too many fans expected instant sack machine. Most NFL rookies not named Micah Parsons don’t have instant impact.
Agree completely. I’m just shocked he had his name called as much as he did on so few snaps.

Anthony Barr played more snaps than Micah. A little surprised by that one. Unfortunately the spearing penalty was the play I most remember from Barr.

You can tell there potential with Williams. He had a nice tackle for loss but he plays too wild (2 penatlies) and was essentially benched after the 2nd

It also doesn't help his case that Fowler has looked good this week with increased snaps. Good for our defense though, makes Basham pretty expendable.

They are doing it right though, work him in slowly.

I think that has a little to do with parsons getting his ankle dinged and missing a few unexpected plays.

Barr is a starter by snap count, and he played well.

Mukuamu got a good amount of snaps, great foe his development.

Would like for Sam Williams to get more snaps, but between Armstrong n Fowler it's going to be tough.

Dennis Houston gets more snaps than Simi again.

The fact that we signed a new tight end that we didn't know about? I assume you meant Jake here? Also this insistence on playing Sam Williams at 3 tech at 255-260 pounds is asinine. Put that man at DE and let him hunt the QB and quit asking him to take on double teams at the point of attack.

Sam is likely replacing DLaw next year. He is your power rusher.
He'll always be more direct than the true edge guys as a down DE. DLaw/Dorance/Sam
League is moving to more 3 down fronts with an Edge that stands up and moves around. That is Micah/Fowler.
It's very, very popular in college ball.

Ooops…my mistake. Yes Jake Ferguson. Too many Tyler’s on this team!

Just a high level observation. Zeke continues to get more snaps than Pollard while many are calling for more Pollard. But Zeke is a better blocker. Some may not think about it that way however.

I think the way those two were used yesterday is about right. Zeke had more snaps and had 16 total touches, Pollard had 13 touches. That’s probably about right.

The coach's job is to win games not appease idiot fans on the internet. The Zeke/Pollard tandem worked this week. Having Pollard in on more passing downs than Zeke last week landed the QB in a cast. Until Pollard can step in there and at least slow down guys about to decapitate our QB he's not getting first team snaps over Zeke. People can be mad about it until the cows come home but that's the reality of it.
