Here are the snap counts from last night’s 20-17 win vs the chargers.
Some things that stand out to me:
  • Cowboys had 64 snaps to chargers 73.
  • Deron Bland and Stephon Gilmore both played all 73 snaps on defense.
  • Hunter Luepke only had 8 snaps. Seems like he had emerged as a good blocking weapon in the run game but only had 8 snaps.
  • Osa Odighizhua played 45 snaps and has seemingly developed into a decent interior defender.
  • Marquese Bell had 39 snaps and made some big plays. He’s developing into a nice player.
What stood out to you?

8 snaps for both McKeon and Luepke (I assume some were shared) is way too many for an offense struggling to get anything downfield.

Turpin must still be hurt, in some regard.

I wonder about these coaches sometimes because Bell always looked like a playmaker when on field. Why would they have him inactive so much in previous match-ups?

I would prefer to see Luepke out there all day and every day over McKeon.

Bell has been active for all games this season.

He has average playing about 40% of snaps on defense.
