Here are the snap counts from yesterday’s game in Washington.
Some things of note:
- What a game from new CB Josh Butler. He had 61 snaps, 12 tackles, 3 passes defended and a sack. He may be a real find for us.
- TEs Luke Schoonmaker (40 snaps) and Brevyn Spann-Ford (33 snaps) both had impactful games. Schoon even bagged TD.
- LB DeMarvion Overshown played all 70 defensive snaps and again played very well including a sack and a TFL.
- Zeke Elliott had 13 snaps and had 3 carries for 6 yds, keeping his 2 yards per carry avg. Seriously, why is this guy still here?
- Micah Parsons was impactful in his 61 snaps. He had 2 sacks, 3 QB hits and 2 TFLs.
What else stood out?
I agree about Butler. I also keep noticing that Luepke is a guy who never takes plays off And reminds me of Bill Bates, who was not insanely talented but made up for it with hustle and determination.
We should have won by two touchdowns but oh the miscues at the worst times really made the game close.
I think Cooper “2112” Rush is nothing more than a capable backup and it’s fools gold to pretend he could actually be a credible starter anywhere. Washington looked almost as bad as us yesterday and any talk about them taking over the east is premature but at least they have their QB and a GM who can be fired lol.
One last point about the game yesterday is it is another season of NFL football with very few great teams if any, a lot of terrible teams like us, and a lot of decent teams. The matchups every week are terrible and there might be 2-3 games a week worth watching.
Zeke is a complete joke. Only a GM out to stick it to their fan base signs and plays Zeke. I’m glad he allegedly was in the best shape of his life in training camp, but he is absolute garbage this season, last season, and the year before. Maybe Jerry will bring Witten back as a player lol.
