It‘s almost embarrassing to even post these…I haven’t seen quit in a Cowboys team since….well it doesn’t matter.
Snap counts this week, and some things that stand out…
  • Zeke Elliott with 28 snaps….28. He had more snaps than yards…as in 8 carries for 17 yards.
  • Rico Dowdle had 19 snaps. After a good game in Pitts wher he had 38 snaps and 20 carries for 87 yards. Against Det, he gets 5 carries for 25 yards. SMH.
  • Zack Martin had 51 snaps and looked old and washed. Very sad to see the future HOFer get bull rushed and pushed around at times.
  • Travon Diggs had 54 snaps and looked like he was playing flag football. Did he ever hit anyone?
What else?

I'm still waiting for some brave soul to re-watch the game and tell me if we went back to zone blocking.

It wasn't until we went more man that we started to maul Pittsburgh.

I suspect our stubborn, has been staff went back to their comfortability and went zone blocked again. It's obvious we aren't good at it, but don't let that stop them from insisting. We all know good coaches force square pegs through circular holes.

I have no words except to say that the one who decides who does and doesn't get snap counts should be fired. Sadly, I don't think our HC decides this.....

Im not one of those that get off on being right, in fact I’m usually happier when I’m wrong when it comes to this team….but I’ve been saying for months that if the team didn’t start well Elliott would go directly to Jerry and complain about touches.

Two delusional brains figuring they are better than they actually are.

Its tough to even find the desire to dive into this stuff this week. The Zeke/Dowdle snaps are an issue to me, but it really shouldnt be a surprise for anyone who follows this organization.

Zach Martin had a few really good games before this one.....I suspect the back issues may be more serious than just an excuse to get a veteran some extra rest.

Brooks got 70+ percent of the snaps, and I'm not even sure if he made it onto the stat sheet??? I know Flournoy fumbled, but how do you not get him a few more snaps in a blowout like this? They have to try something else at WR.

The timing of the Zeke complaints are what really leave me frustrated. This team just won two straight and the needle on Dowdle was pointed up. A WR complaining about touches coming off of back to back wins would be labeled a distraction and a locker room cancer. I understand wanting to get onto the field, but this was probably the worst time for Zeke to bring it up....at least to the point where it got to the media.

I agree. Games like this are the time to find out what you got at the second tier of the roster. Flournoy fumbled and that was bad. He had the ball in the wrong arm, But he looks like a player who can get separation. The Cowboys need WRs that can get separation. Brooks doesn't look like much to me. He is a practice squad player.

I don't know what is going on with Martin but he got caught flat-footed a couple of times which is very unlike him. And he getting called for holding this year which is also unusual. I think he retires after this season but in the meantime they need him play like he has in the past.

Zeke even being out there was a joke. That’s when I knew this thing was over. He needs to be cut over the bye week. Ridiculous.
Zeke should not even be in the league at this point, let alone on the Cowboys being rested for later in the year.

Starting Zeke and not playing Rico is the most Cowboy thing ever.

70 needs to retire tomorrow, plug in Hoffman at C and move Bebee to right guard.

And even if Jerry didn’t tell Mike Mac to play him more, just the fact that it is believable tells us everything we need to know about how this team is run.

Getting called for holding which has never happened before is the biggest indication something is wrong with Martin.
That is what players do when they know they are losing
I agree that the back problems are worse than what the team has admitted

How was Mazi's run stopping in his 32 snaps?
I didn't notice him.
Oh...

You may be right. Are we going to hear he is out for a few games at some point?
