I 've got to laugh at some of these "experts" who are calling Jerry Jones a desperate fool.

These are the same guys who ridiculed the Cowboys for not drafting a WR in the first round. Especially a WR who would probably ride the pine for a year or so. Williams is a proven veteran top tier WR. No guessing, hoping and waiting. So what has changed?

So what that they gave up an extra third round pick, they have another. In fact, this team is made up of a lot of mid-round guys. How many draft picks will actually contribute anyway on a deep team?

Unless of coarse you draft FS's with the first 4 picks. :D

They're not going to give this any credit because he's a better WR than what Dallas could have drafted and that's what has them talking. They dont like that Dallas got even more talented so they'll just talk more and more smack.

Even if Dallas goes on to win the Superbowl they'll find someway to say that this move is going to cause TO to explode and cause the Cowboys to meltdown.

BINGO!

No matter how great this move could have been, it will not be recognized as such by most media people. Especially by those on ESPN.

We basically only gave up a 1st rounder for him since we already had an extra 3rd and 6th round pick.

Exactly, the same "know it all's" that wanted a receiver. Well we have a guy who has won half the rookie of the week awards so far and a first round "steal" corner who thank God we have to fill our void at that spot right now. Sure he will have it tough but that WR wasn't going to save us from these injuries. We drafted great in the first round. Now in regards to Roy's worth you tell me where you can get a top 7 pick with a first rounder and a 3rd picking from 25-32 in each round? On top of that, a top 7 pick at a position who usually needs 3 seasons to be good enough to start earning the salary shelled out. Ask Braylon who was 3rd overall and is one of the 1/5 highly regarded WR's in the last decade that is actually becoming something.

I don't care if other teams showed no interest and either did the Lions. They weren't going to let him go just to grab picks that wouldn't net them a player of this caliber and youth anyways. I said all along, as long as Jerry knows he can sign him for at least 4-5 years, which is what you should get out of a first, then a first was a no brainer, they want a player or a 3rd do it. Out of Chad Johnson, Boldin and RW this is the best option for the boys now and long term. Arguably, Boldin and RW are both worth close to a top 10 pick, Chad a late first at least because of age and attitude. Philly tried to offer Lito and a first for Chad or Boldin. Their first is worth more than ours was and you think Lito is worth a late 3rd which is more like an early fourth anyways?

This was a win-win trade for both teams. Detroit needs to build their whole team and can't dump 18% of their cap on 2 WR's and now have draft picks to buildup other parts of the team. Roy is gonna get at least 7-8.5 million a year but Dallas has the rest of their team built up where Detroit didn't. Deon was asking why Detroit let him go, there's something fishy but it's obvious. Don't give me this he's not a hard worker garbage, T.O called RW accoring to RW and RW old the press he is ready and willing to learn te Jerry Rice work regimen. Came right out without anyone asking. This is not about desperation and we need to cool down the Pacman noise, Jerry is telling the truth, he wanted RW for 2 years now and now was when we could get him. Might never have happened if he hit free agency.

The media likes to blast the team because it creates controversy and in turn turns up ratings.

The deal is a win-win and will help us in the long term. I hope we have a great capologist as we will need to resign alot of key parts (ie Ware) and we dont turn into the Skins
