About the same time that the term realist became a negative . If you mention an a weakness in a players game, you are considered to be a realist that is hating. For the record, I consider myself neither homer or realist. It amazes me that fans of the same team, are so quick to disrespect each other for the sake of proving their point .

It never did.

Hating is when disliking and disagreeing can't (really, 'won't') be expressed in a rational argument. Defeatism fits into this category, too.

For the most part, people really like discussing differing opinions on CZ.

Ah. I get you. I hate everything IRL, so it's hard for me to say. :)

'Hating' became en vogue when people began denying the possibility of honest disagreement.

Nowadays, if you disagree with someone, it's because you're prejudice or bigoted in some way or you harbor some sort of nefarious or secretive agenda.

The purpose of hurling such accusations is to avoid having to discuss the real issue.

Hostile nailed it. It's the PC society we live in today. Everybody's a victim of something.

General "civil" discussion took step back when "hating" got added to the lexicon.
