Today my favourite soccer club Schalke 04 is competing against Manchester United for a spot in the finals. They are really big underdogs. They beat last year champion Inter in the quarterfinals twice (5 - 2 and 2 - 1), so there is hope that will surprise ManU.

By the way, Schalke last won the national championship in 1958

And this is why the CHAMPIONS league is so wrong.

How can a team that hasn't been Champions for over 50 years even be in it.
That said, as Man Utd weren't champions last year they shouldn't be in it either.

I'm no fan of Man Utd, but I have to say I would prefer them to win as I would rather an English team (albeit half a team of non English players) win it.

But if Schalke do get through to the final, I'd like to see them beat either of the Spanish teams.

Yeah, we came back to reality. Played like an underdog who is satisfied with his sucess, even if he hasn't won it all.

hopefully barca win it, not a fan of madrid at all. the politics of that particular derby has me firmly on the catalan side

It sure is a misnomer isn't it?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mourino out think everyone again.

besides the two brilliant plays by messi for goals, that was quite and ugly game! i really hate the spanish teams complaining to the refs so much, its quite annoying

it really was an ugly game; but messi's second goal was brilliance.

i still don't think that shoulda been a red card. Out of all people, Madrid's most important classico player, Pepe, got sent off cause freakin alves' dramatic reaction. I hate how Barca's guys like Busquets, Pedro, Alves, and even Puyol were flying all over the place trying to get calls.

Madrid did a good job of making things difficult for Barca when they entered their side of the half; but without Pepe in the defensive midfield, it was a whole nother story.

I think its all over unless Madrid gets an early goal. I expect an ULTRA attacting formation with Higuain at center forward with Ronaldo and Di Maria on the wings. In the mid I don't want to see 3 defensive minded midfielders again. I hope they try to put in Kaka and Ozil, but I think that might be a little over board.

2-0 vs Barca; I expect to see 20 to 1 odds that Barca go to the final

I agree their antics are getting old really fast! I love messi but the other guys make it hard to cheer for them sometimes. And ya that was a borderline yellow, weak red by the ref
