Solid Draft so far. Just like last year.

The thing I liked about last year's draft, and the thing that I like about our draft so far is that we take solid players.

We don't draft any players with out-of-whack bang-to-hype ratios.

The players we got last year were producers at the college level. They all had solid characters.

Ware
Spears
Burnett
Canty
Barber
Beriault
Pettiti
Ratliff

Those were all solid performers in college. We didn't draft anyone because they were a work-out monster or had "a high ceiling." We took players who preformed successfully at the college ranks. Outside of the first rounders, we didn't take any glamarous picks. Just solid performers.

And same so far this year.

Carpenter is solid. It made me smile when the guys on ESPN labelled Carpenter "the safest pick in the draft." I agree. Carpenter is a solid performer for one of the biggest college football teams there is.

Fasano is a solid pick from a major football school. He was a solid producer. You know what you are getting with him: a hard-working, good character solid tight end to pair with Witten.

Hatcher... well, I'd be lying if I said I knew of him before yesterday. But from reading about him, he seems to be in the same mold as everyone else. A solid producer who will translate well to a solid 3-4 DE. I will take a wait-and-see approach with him before I proclaim my theory to be tight.

I am just confident and happy with the people we have working the draft. I feel really good they aren't grabbing people who were workout warriors or guys with no tape or players with "potential." They are taking solid players and the best player available. Good for them.
