Felix Jones was drafted to be our big play guy and we've only had a few. He has had a couple injuries which he never had a problem with in college, yet some believe he can't carry a full load. Do we have enough data to support this? Is that judgement pre-mature? I have seen him make some great blocks against the blitz, yet some think he can't block. Did I miss the ones he blew? Also he looked very electric at the beginning the year and now seems a little flat or slower. WHY?

1) I'm wondering if this is due to lingering problems from the injuries or
2) Because he gets so few attempts...when he does come into the game he stands out and the opposing defense knows he's coming and they are just stuffing him. I know when he comes into the game he stands out to me.

Thoughts?

Look at the green bay game when Romo fumbles.

That's a perfect example.

he hasn't displayed an ability to carry a full load especially dating back to college. Choice on the other hand has proven to be a work horse.

Thread responses will follow this pattern, if not this order...

1) Felix just needs a chance, he's electric!

2) Felix is not Chris Johnson!

3) Screw Felix, start Choice!

4) Felix really isn't that fast, he's more quick than anything.

hey maso those 13 reps at the combine decided his fate :laugh2:

Everything the Red Genius tries to do with him is telegraphed to the nth degree which is partly why Felix only does anything against bad teams.

Put me down for some #3 pleas :laugh2:

There's plenty of choice vs, felix threads, just wondering what the deal is with Felix here.

Injuries aside, do we have enough data to support the case he can carry a full load? He didn't do that in college. I've always believed that until you do something, you are always unproven. I'm not saying Felix can't carry a full load. Until he does, no one really knows.

Very interesting and correct. Mcfadden was the guy full time, so Felix never was the #1 guy, do we have to look at HS or just give him a shot starting?

Just guessing here but I'd say Mcfading got 60% of the carries, Felix got 40% right?

Not sure but my gut says let's see what felix can do with 20 carries per game in DEC.

I'm down with that, maybe even throw in 2-3 screens per game also...

Put me down for #1....same thing many others said about Austin.

Good thing CJ isn't on this team...he'd still be riding the pine.

I have no idea how he is running routes, but I'd love to see Felix used in more of a variety, maybe even as a decoy. Regardless of his durability and how he is carrying the load, we've seen enough of him to know that he can be incredible in space. For whoever proposed the idea of Felix's limited opportunities kind of gives away that his number is being called, I agree. I'm in the Choice camp, but I'd love to see Felix shut us all up this afternoon.

Forget screens... I'm talking quick flares and isolation in the slot against LBs...

Yes. I have a thought or two. Felix is the textbook definition of a tease. Immense potential to go along with a knack for finding the injury report...

Here's a picture of him celebrating a TD earlier this year.
