Record against Opponents

The Cowboys have faced 19 different teams on Thanksgiving Day.

They have faced 11 of the 14 other NFC Teams they could face. They cannot face Detroit whose own Thanksgiving tradition dates back to 1934. They have also not faced the Falcons, Saints, or Panthers.

The Seahawks started in the NFC West in 1976, but moved to the AFC in 1977 and stayed there until 2001. In 2002 they moved back to the NFC West. They are 1-1 against them in the AFC, 1-0 against them in the NFC.

They have faced 8 of the 16 AFC Teams. They have not faced the Bills, Ravens, Bengals, Colts, Jaguars, Texans, Raiders or Chargers.

One of those will be added to the list next year. See below.

The Cowboys are 0-2 in OT on Thanksgiving.

Washington Commanders...6-0
Arizona Cardinals...4-0 (includes St. Louis)
Chicago Bears...2-0
Cleveland Browns...2-0
Green Bay Packers...2-0

I still remember the OT loss to Denver 3 years ago. If Cundiff had made that kick in the 4th, all the talk the following days would have been how our DL dominated the Broncs' stout OL. Instead, all we had to hear was how some former 1st round reject in Ron Dayne ran all over us(most of those yards being in that OT session). Overall, a number of missed opportunities(i.e. Newman dropping an INT 6, and that 3rd and 1 hitch play in the 4th to T. Glenn, which wasn't one of his strengths).

That Miami blowout loss in '03 was very dissapointing too-we came off a huge win against an NFC powerhouse in Carolina to improve to 8-3, and after that game, it was reported that Parcells immediately got this team focused for the Fins game. Frankly-I was in the movie theater watching "Elf" through much of the game, so at least I was able to avoid the misery.

I remember that Denver game very well. We had absolutely no excuse for losing that game. I remember thinking we had it in the bag basically the entire game, we end up not winning the game in regulation, and then I remember Keith Davis taking a bad angle on a run by Dayne and that was that. I was so pissed off.

That Dolphins game was pretty bad too. I remember Roy Williams getting trucked by Ricky Williams. I was pretty disappointed that we got lit up by Jay Fiedler too.

I'll always remember Jay Novacheck hurdling that Kansas City defender on his way to a touchdown and Michael Irvin's juggling catch in the back corner of the endzone in 1995.

Also remember "Leave it alone, Leon", but mostly because I was an 8 year old who was stunned that it could snow that much in November in Texas :laugh2:
