Romo and henson both held for kicks on Saturday, and I know Parcells likes to use his back up QBs as holders, but...

If you want great hands and the threat of a fake, wouldn't Crayton be the guy?

We know he has great hands, he can throw...I saw that first hand in AZ...he is obviously a greater running threat than the QBs.

BP would do something like that, just not in preseason.

Didn't they try that last season and it became a very botched play? I don't want to confuse that with the McBriar holding issue in the Minny game. But I distinctly remember something bad happen with a Crayton trick play. Anyone remember?

Just guessing but I would think the reason is since he is trying to learn the WR position all of his focus is on that. I don't think it is a bad ideal and that could be something Dallas does down the line as Crayton becomes more comfortable at WR

I think Crayton went under center and Vinnie went to WR. QB draw that got stuff.

I thought it was an end around pass that he threw.

I have hoped Parcells would do this since the day he made the team.

I think Crayton is a multi-talented weapon who is being under utilized.

Hold on PATs and FGs
Punt Returns
Kick Returns
Up Back between Punter and Center for fakes
WR passes

I'd like to see this guy used more and more.

Well if he is not the regular holder and all of the sudden our "Slash" comes on, it kind of kills the element of surprise, don't ya think?;)

Whatever it was it blew up in their face. :(
Basically that was my point. I'd rather he MASTERED the intricacies of the WR position before adding slash-position-slash-position next to his name.

my reference was to a trick play, not about "slash" holding.

Guarantee you that's Big Bill's thinking, especially when there is talk of him spelling Glenn at #2.

And wouldn't it be even more important for Romo and Henson to not have the added duties of holding while they were trying to learn the intricacies of QB?:D

I would think that holding, while important, cannot be held to the same standard as converting a former QB to a WR. The two don't compare, IMO.

I believe Crayton played WR and RB while in college, too, so he is not just a former QB who never played WR.;)
