Whether it be whole songs or just bits and pieces, post them here if ya got it.

The first and perhaps the worst offender is What I Got/Sublime which clearly uses the first part from Lady Madonna/The Beatles..

Next up is Creep/Radiohead{vocal melody which starts at 2:25} is quite similar to a part in The air that I breathe/Hollies.

And last but not least Greta Van Fleet/Highway Tune which intro wise and a bit in the middle{around 1:50 are a direct note for note rip off of Zeppelins The Rover. The singer is obviously trying to ham Plant and heck even the drummer is playing a kit similar to one of Bonhams. Please stop with the next Led Zeppelin talk.....

Obvious ones but don't feel like posting videos

Ghostbusters. Movie wanted Huey Lewis and news to do title song, they turned down request.
Ghostbusters took Huey Lewis song I WANT A NEW DRUG. Sped it up, changed lyrics had Ray Parker Jr sing it.

Ice Ice Baby. Vanilla Ice
Under pressure . Queen aBowie

Not a rip off really as writing credits were shared.

Four Horsemen Metallica
Mechanix Megadeth

The Stones "Anybody Seen My Baby" ripped "Constantly Craving" by K.D. Lang, note for note. They didn't get sued like George Harrison did for "My Sweet Lord" but Jagger/Richard apologized and gave her credit for an infectious melody, which it is.

Sometimes it just isn't intentional, it happens by accident. I have a friend Terri Hendrix, a sensational songwriter in her own right, come up to me one day excited by a song she just finished writing. She was gonna debut it during a Songwriter Open Mic Night that night and wanted to sing it for me first. She sings it and I tell her, I know that song, it's slower and the words are different, but it's The Who's I can See For Miles. I start singing The Who's version to her and she gets this look like I just killed her puppy, she was heartbroken.

She doesn't sing it that night, but tells the story about this great new song she had and she new it was a great song because The Who had written it first. The crowd got a good laugh and begged her to play it anyway, but she never did. It was a good song though.

I can't stand when songs get ripped off and you got some ignorant moron singer/rapper trying to act so cool like he was the originator of the song because he knows kids are not going to listen to other generations music.
I never felt the molecular bond gravitating over from MARVIN GAYE to that HAPPY song,,,sorry Aficionado connoisseurs!,,, but if a cool or unique hook or pitch is considered theft/ infringement, well,,,SHEESE:rolleyes:
( that Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers could sing a song about a crappy $4.50 frozen pizza with his hook & voice inflection to where it'd get radio air time,,,that cat is an amazing talent.)

Everyone ripped off Chuck Berry's rifs, Beach Boys wrote alot of their songs using his rifs. As did many others.
