Sources: MLB, players talk realignment

I think the 5 playoff spots is ********. How would that work? Make the bottom two teams play a "play-in" series? Keep it at four teams, or expand to 6 like the NFL.

expand it to 6, hell they play a billion games a year, let more teams in the playoffs.

Agreed, there have been alot of good teams that don't make the playoffs.

I kinda like the idea of the Astros coming to the American League and I like the 3 equal divisions per league and the interleague play through out.

I don't like the idea of all the teams being lumped together as just a league and no divisions like in the old, old days, to me that's boring. I don't the 5 playoff teams format either. Either keep it the same a 4 per league or go to 3 wild cards to make it 6 playoff spots per league like the NFL has.

Agreed.

Astros in the AL would make for some great baseball between the Rangers for years to come. Similar to the Spurs vs Mavs rivalry, IMO.

I like the Rangers have with the Angels, but it doesn't make sense that we play Oakland, Seattle, and LA when they are so far away..

I realize the same could be said about the Cowboys playing Philly, NY, and Washington but at least those rivalries have some definite merit and it would hurt the league if they didn't meet twice a year. I don't think anyone will miss seeing the Rangers and the A's play a 5 game series in July.

Why doesn't that decrepid waste of space commissioner take his stupid drunken sausages and move em back to the AL.....dont mess with the Astros.

I love the Astros/Cards rivalry....I do not want to lose it. I have grown to hate the Cards. I wouldnt mind a division with the Astros, Rangers, and Cards....but if at all possible, keep the Astros in the NL.

Any baseball playoffs expansion would be a disaster because in baseball, a team that had a first round bye would actually be punished by being forced to take about a week off while their next round opponent got to stay in the groove and regular routine.

In baseball, there's such a thing a too much rest.

I agree, had the Rockies not had to wait around so long, they most likely win it all....but all that down time and their bats got arctic cold.
