Since there was a recent Ebay thread, I've got a question for you.

What was the most expensive thing you've purchased / sold on Ebay?

Sold: Bowflex when I moved to NY for $1,000
Purchased: A used stainless steel Rolex for my wife for $2,300.

Sold: For 1 single item, was an early 50's vintage Levis jean jacket I found in some boxes my great aunt left in a u-store place. I "inherited" them solely because I was the only one willing to clean it out after she died.

I did some research on ebay, saw these selling for $400-$700, listed it as a 7-day no reserve, starting at 0.99.

Within 1/2 a day, I had 3 emails offering me $500-$600 to end the auction early and sell it to them.

I let it go the full 7 days and ended up getting about $600 or so. I had no idea those things were so coveted.

Bought: Was about $2000 for a Sony desktop computer around 96-97.

A delta $500 travel voucher for like $300 a couple of years ago (back when there was 30% cashback for ebay, those were the days).

I've sold a box of used books for like $100, can't remember the exact price.

Can't remember what I paid for it but it included a parking pass.

my daughter's clothes that she'd outgrown.
Sold them in a big lot and they sold for $740.00

Funny that you mention "Diablo", because that is what I call my '08 'Vulcan 900 LT', which was my most expensive item I have ever purchased on eBay.

I bought it from Cycle Search International, which is a reputable motorcycle dealer north of Columbus, .. they ship many many bikes nationally and internationally.

They had given it a 52 pt. service check and put two brand new tires on it before I bought it.

So it was not like I bought it from some person somewhere. I am not sure I would be comfortable doing that.

I drove up with my youngest son and drove the bike back 3 1/2 hours.

It is two tone, ... candy cardinal red and diablo black, which is why I call it Diablo.

I was nervous purchasing a bike without riding it but my oldest son owns an '07 Vulcan 900 so I knew I liked the way it rode.

They had probably 25-30 real good pictures of it, .. I could even see the slight scuff on the saddlebag.

Turned out good.

How'd you list it, with a starting bid or with a reserve bid, and what was it? Just curious how much it's valued at.

It's a nice looking Camaro for sure. Love that color scheme.

A good watch will last forever if you take care of it and will hold it's value as an heirloom. (sometimes it goes way up in value).

I have a Breitling Super Ocean with a stainless steel ban. I wear it every day and have for the last five years. I will have it for the rest of my life.

Now, there is a point when you have to say no. $15k for a watch is stupid x3.

Bought had to an old Transformers paddle car from the UK. That's including shipping (which was $100).

Sold individually would be a Transformers Botcon boxset from 2007 which went for if I remember correctly $520. Though, during those conventions I usually have 12-18 auctions I put on ebay. Last year I had 18 that sold for about $3500 combined.

Well since I broken more watches then I care to think about; why I quit wearing them and I make them stop if they are not digital and I wear them on my wrist.

So I just use a cell phone or a pager for the last 10 years
