I wonder if we are waiting for Feb 20th to go after the Chicago Bears ST Coach. It is one of the few jobs we have left and he is out there still

thoughts?

We need to bring in someone good because our STs haven't been very good since Joe Avezzano left.

I was excited when I saw that Parcells brought in Bruce DeHaven, because he had a lot of success in Buffalo and San Fran, but he stunk here for some reason. It is doubly weird because STs is an area that Bill puts a lot of focus on.

Hopefully, we will get back on track.

Do you really think the ST stunk here? I thought they were slightly better than average except for the field goal kicking.

Dave Taub with the Bears is pretty good, I think. Maybe Dallas is waiting for him.

I'd be in favor of it.

I thought the special teams play was pretty solid this year once they got rid of Vandermiss.

hope we do get Taub from the Bears... otherwise I suspect Wade will look up his black book for guys he is familiar with from the past

we gave up no big plays in specials teams, we had the top 2 kickoff returners in the NFL, we just need another playmaker that can cause fumbles on our special teams D.

We gave up a td to Wash and had a game winning fg blocked

We had the top punter but our punt coverage teams were terrible ranking 25th in yards per return on punt coverage. We ranked 21st in punt returns ourselves which sucks.

On kickoffs we were ranked 27th. Our kickoff returns were OK at #9 and our kickoff coverage was excellent at #2.

There is a LOT of room for improvement.

Well, yards-per-return depends largely on the length of the kick. McBriar was the best in the league at launching punts great distances. That means the returner has more room to make a return since the coverage guys can only run so fast ... but because of the distance of his punts, our net yardage was still #3 in the NFL.
