I know people wondering how I figured this out. Jerry Jones actually hinted if the right deal/opportunity comes along during the draft he will trade Julius but if not he'll be going into the season with the runningback core he ended the season with.

Jerry Jones said:
More than likely, unless we have an opportunity in the draft to do something, it’s likely that we’ll be going with the running back group we ended the season with.

What would be the right deal? Any ideas in mind on what it takes to get Julius Jones?

I believe it would have to be a #2 pick....similiar in value to where JJ was taken.

I think some people try to read to much into what JJ is saying. To me, it meant that unless one of the top 2 backs falls to us at 22, then we would have the same RB core as last year. And I don't think Julius is on the block for trades, nor should he be. If we have an opportunity to get a great value at RB in the draft we do it and let the chips fall where they may.. but other than that, I don't think we will even draft a RB this year.

I would like to have Marshawn Lynch over Adrian Peterson because of his durability. Lynch stays is more of an healthy player than Adrian Peterson. If Peterson could stay healthy, yeah I would like him but he can't so I like Lynch, and besides Lynch is a more smaller target than Peterson. Peterson is a big target you can see coming.

The "right" deal would be one that nets you a player - or a boatload of draft picks - that is hands-down beter than Julius Jones. But most teams won't do that.

You know, it's quite possible that Jerry Jones shopped Julius Jones on te trading block to "price" him out. If Jerry Jones is thinking of extending Julius Jones' contract after this season, wouldn't it be worth knowing what other teams value the player at, based on the value of the draft pick or player they are offering in exchange?

You make an interesting point. Marshawn Lynch, Jerious Norwood, or Michael Turner would be a good addition.

no, no and no

People desperate to get rid of JJ will try and justify it any which way. Jerrah seemed pretty clear when he said that he wanted to stick with what we had. Of course if someone offered a really good deal we will take it. BUT that is not likely.

Peterson is better than Lynch, c'mon.

You're going to look so silly for even asking, when by some stroke of blind luck it happens.

;)

The only way this happens is if Jerry gets a shot at Lynch. JJ's good bait for a few places in the first round but not expecting this to happen too many franchises still looking for a quality back for him to drop that far and teams wanting to trade away from him. Lynch to GB or Tenessee if he falls that far.

AP to the Browns, J.Lewis is just a smokescreen/back up they are hanging their hat on Charlie Frye.

I know, but I think everyone has an idea of what might happen after 2,346 posts on trading JJ. ;)

Speaking of Rubik's Cubes, I watched "The Pursuit of Happyness (based on a true story) last night with my wife. It's one of the best movies I have seen all year. I highly recommend it. It gets :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: from yours truly.

Look for JuJones to be dealt.

lol

Talk about stuff being blown out of proportion. All this because michael smith of espn says its so. Have you guys watched and listened to michael smith on a regular basis?

Last year was a unique situation, maroney looked like and will be an outstanding player, in order to get him after having drafted carpenter the cowboys needed another pick to package with their 2 so they could get back into the first round, after new england took him it didnt matter.

It was never about trading julius last year, it was always about acquiring Maroney. I wish people would understand that.

Now if there is a prospect we can land in the 2nd or third and the same situation arises and they feel can be more productive than jones then they may do something.

There are no desperate teams for running backs now. So I see no need for all of this trade julius talk. It is just a down time until the draft and this story is all there is to talk about.

I would be willing to bet unless there is a player in the draft none of us know of right now, we are not even considering moving jones.

Last year was the right fit to do it and the jets were the perfect partner, but that is long gone.

I've been wanting to see that one.
