good news. They pick up a younger goal scorer and Dallas is looking pretty formidable. There have been 9 trades today alone. The nhl is nuts.

According to TSN, the Stars have acquired center Brad Richards and goalie Johan Holmqvist from the Lightning. Forwards Jussi Jokinen and Jeff Halpern, and goalie Mike Smith are headed to Tampa Bay.
More to come.

I really don't keep up much with hockey, but this looks like a good trade for the Stars. They basically switch back-ups at goalie and add a good scorer (the lack of which was their downfall in last year's playoffs).

Looks like a good trade. I liked Mike Smith, but the Stars could not pass up the chance to get Brad Richards. One of the best forwards in the NHL in his prime. Hopefully he will be around here for quite a few years. I can see him replacing the aging Modano.

they are rolling. Last nights game was great. Turco was great in the 2nd period and then the offense took over in the 3rd. Steve ott was kicking tail last night. He got put into the bench and then he went into a frenzy!

They are rolling. Won 12 out of their last 14 without a dominant scorer and a young defense. Hard to believe 4 of the 6 defensemen are 24 or younger and 3 are rookies. Hope it continues and the trade doesn't mess anything up.

Saw that Boucher came back, but Zubov had surgery and will be out until the end of March.

Not a bad debut.

Brad Richards wasted no time showing what he can do for the Dallas Stars. Richards had a career-high five points - all on assists - in his Dallas debut, setting up new linemate Niklas Hagman's first NHL hat trick and sending the Stars past the Chicago Blackhawks 7-4 Thursday night.
