Starting QBs in the NFL are basically on a bell curve

Most QBs are in the middle of the curve and can move left or right depending on circumstances (coaching staff and talent around them). This is why most NFL QBs shouldn't be overpaid. Look at Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield as recent examples of guys who have improved their stock. I honestly think Dak is on par with Derek Carr but is getting 100 million more than Carr.

Carr has always been pretty solid imo. Carr, Cousins, Ryan...all those guys can play and yeah there are only 2 or 3 qbs who this doesn't apply to.

Far as Daks pay. His numbers provided the contract. He's been in a good spot, and he's prospered.

Idc about the hate from this game. He 100% kept us in it until Brooks slipped. We will have started the year against 3 straight dominant defenses. Look what the other teams who have played Cleveland, NO, and Baltimore have done. Next week will be tough sleeping as well.

We probably then put up 50 on NY.

If Dak was drafted to save the Raiders like Carr, he’d either be out the league or a backup now.

This has pretty much always been my stance on the situation. Nothing against Dak, I think he is a very good QB in this league, but it's a team game and these QBs not either extremely good or extremely bad are going to win or lose based on how good their supporting casts are. Paying multiple record setting contracts with an owner like Jerry who refuses to spend additional money on outside players is not a good combo. Most 2-0 teams right now have QBs on favorable deals or the big money on those deals havent kicked in yet. Most super bowl appearances seem to be by either rookie QB contracts or vets with team friendly contracts. Off the top of my head the couple exceptions in recent history are probably Stafford whos team really went all in that year, and Matt Ryan, maybe I'm missing one over the last decade or so....maybe Payton Manning was up there in salary for his last one?

Plan is let the QB's throw for less, which causes the market to reset. Nobody exceeds 60 anymore
