Starting to think we spend on defense in fa and add cheap offensive talent in the draft!

Dallas Cap is completely lopsided in favor of the offense and think they are going to try to put together a more balanced roster moving forward:

-Dak/Lamb have marketing setting type of contracts
-Once Zach Martin contract comes off the books, Tyler Smith is the only one they have to resign in the near future
-Brandin Cooks is expected to depart, paying basically nothing at the position outside of Lamb
-It is very possible the clear the books at the running back position, but probably will add a low cost veteran prior to the draft
-Will they extend Ferguson/Schoon? Might just churn in over by adding another TE

-Osa, DLaw, Golston are all unrestricted fa's
-Parsons hits his contract year and his extension is coming this offseason
-Kendricks is a fa and probably will be playing elsewhere, Overshown is expected back until 2026
-Lewis is an unrestricted fa, some believe Diggs could be out until mid-season, most think could be gone for the entire season like Overshown.

As you can see, they have no choice, but to spend on the defensive side of the football. Really believe with a new offense HC, we are going to see more of a draft focus for controllable talent, especially early on.

Well, the Parsons deal will restore some balance lol.
And if they like Bland enough to keep him. also Osa Alphabet.

IMO what I would like to see is BPA in FA and the draft.

Their receivers are barren after Lamb. It's not often you get a day 1 stud at WR from the draft.
Would like to see a #2 signed in FA. Even if it's someone like Kupp who is on the decline but as a #2 option should give a year or two of solid play-when healthy.

Even at DT, don't need to break the bank, but sign a mid level DT so if they do double dip at DT in the draft the rookie isn't forced to be that 50%+ snaps and effective day 1.

We will see. The stooges talk a good game but in the end they want the books balanced. Let’s see what happens with Parsons. It will tell us if the Cowboys are serious about taking a chance. There is enough free agent talent to improve our team and make us a playoff team before we even draft.

Drafting the skill/$ positions (QB, WR, DE, CB, OT, pass rushing DT) early and supplementing the cheaper positions (LB, IOL, TE, run stuffing DT, S) with free agency is always going to be the best strategy.
The Cowboys have done reasonably well with the 1st part, but when you refuse to attempt to do the 2nd part it creates an imbalanced team with depth issues.
