Steele and Diggs Returning to Form and Bland Staying Solid

I haven't heard much about how Steele has looked in camp, as the focus has primarily been on Guyton, Hoffman, and Beebe. I think so much of this season's success is contingent on Steele and Diggs returning to form, as well as Bland not having that inevitable drop off season it feels like some Cowboys players seem to have after flashing what looks to be an elite skillset the prior year. I was a bit miffed they didn't resign Gilmore with Diggs coming off of the ACL, but one of the biggest, pleasant surprises of camp (at least to me) has been how deep our cornerback room all of a sudden appears to be with Carson, Scott, and Jourdan Lewis also having a great camp. Granted, let's see how they do when Ceedee returns, but for now it sounds like CB is solid and Diggs should have some leeway to get back into All-Pro form if he needs a few games. Hopefully Bland can cover well and not just rely on interceptions.

So, that leaves Steele. He had some very rough games last season, and this team really needs the o-line to help significantly in the running game with this committee approach. What would be the answer if Steele continues to struggle? Hopefully not Edoga. I don't think Beebe or Bass are tackles. Do you slide Martin to RT again and go with Beebe or Bass at RG? It seems like it's always a bad idea to change multiple positions like that, especially when it comes to your All-Pro's, but it seems like we are quite deep at guard with some quality players but screwed at tackle if someone goes down or doesn't play well.

One of the beat writers - can't remember which one - said Steele looks much better at this point than last year. Better balance and much better timing.
Steele should have started the season on IR; he truly was a big liability the first two months of the season.
That is on Jethro and company for not having someone that they could plug in until he was ready.

I mean no team has starting OTs as backup OTs, but the whole offensive line was hurt to start the year.

Steele also was healthy, he just had to play through it. Delaying him for another month wouldn't have really changed that I don't think.

Asim is the 3rd swing tackle and should be very capable,,, I'd put him ahead of Edoga. Fingers crossed for Guyton's success.

Bland isn't a one year wonder either. Dude was balling his rookie year. He may not be perfect but he's pretty damn good. Diggs cover skills have improved as well. Then they say Carson is coming on and Jlew in the slot. We have a pretty nice secondary, ESPECIALLY if we can generate some pressure.

It sucks when guys put out bad film recovering from injury or playing hurt. They get trashed for their effort when in reality they probably should've rested.

Diggs/Bland/Lewis is the best CB trio in football.

Who knows what Carson will be in game action. He's looked good but he is very grabby.

Steele looked far better late in the season then he did early on. He should return to a good run blocker and still have struggles at times in pass protection.
