Steelers' Harrison calls Goodell a 'crook' in interview

hahaha ill admit it, i enjoyed the hell out of this article

I can understand his dislike of Goodell, but to go to this much effort to talk trash to this degree is ridiculous. He comes across as a bitter idiot.

More puzzling is the way he trashed teammates. What a moron.

I don't even understand his dislike for Goodell. Why do you think it is?

I can't understand why he would even say this stuff. If you think it, so be it but how stupid do you have to be to say stuff like this. Might as well strap a bigger bullseye on your back so refs really start watching your every move. I don't think it's going to be orders from the Goodellfather but you can be sure there are some in the league who will take note.

In short, because he has been fined a lot. The longer explaination is that some of those fines were for what he - and frankly others - have perceived is an unrealistic standard for when and how a defender can tackle/hit a player with the ball. There is no question Harrison pushes that line, and probably more than most, but I also know he has been hit with fines for tackles that I really can't find fault with. Harrison believes, as I think others do, that the league is going overboard in its efforts to potect players and that it is going soft and taking the agression out of football.

My opinion is that I can understand the need for the league to step in and try and eliminate dangerous head shots, but I also think the league needs to understand that there is a difference between incidental head to head contact that occurs in many tackles, and head to head contact in which the head of the ball carrier is targeted, or the head of the tackler is used as a weapon.

That said, clearly those sentiments could be expressed in a better way than the stupid way Harrison simply just attacked Goodell in the article.

And that's exactly what he did in that game vs Cleve. From 5 yds away he lowered his helmet and aimed straight for the players head. He has nothing to complain about.

I'm missing your point. That was one play, and it speaks only to that play and not every play where Harrison was penalized and/or fined.

We all know Harrison has had some illegal hits - probably even he woudl admit that. Still, past hits don't justify callling penalties and imposing fines for subsequent hits that shouldn't be viewed as illegal.
