He had a lot to say but according to him, this offseason was just another year, no different from the ones in the past.

Stephen Jones: ‘Zero’ Frustration as Cowboys Separate Business From Football

Dallas got deals done for CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, and won convincingly Sunday. Ownership understands it will continue to be questioned until the team has success in the postseason.

I try to keep telling everyone that the drama is just how fans feel. All the negotiating and whatever is SOP for the organization.

Do you think they ever seriously considered moving on from Dak or they were always going to extend him?

I don't think there was any chance he was ever going anywhere, and I think the Joneses new the $60m per year number around when Joe Burrow signed. 4x$240 was always going to be the extension and that was also true for 4x$160 last time around. The same is true for the agents.

$60m APY is good value considering what guys like Love and Tua signed for.

Imagine what the numbers will be 3-4 years ........
BTW .....I have to think the Chiefs will adjust Mahomes deal to put him closer to the top pay scale at some point.

Yea I mean Dak's next contract is going to be like...80m or something.

They'll almost certainly restructure to add guarantees. I think, even with the way it is now, his APY is low but cash is high.

Here is a clip from the SI article.......goes to show Jerry and Stephen ALWAYS wanted him back

Stephen said that, for all the hand-wringing, there were a couple of one-on-one “visits” (his word) he had with Prescott, and a couple more his dad had with the quarterback that the Cowboys took as good signs that a deal would get done.
