He said he saw him last night right before curfew in the elevator and he had a huge stack of books, said he looked like a college kid cramming for a test and was very focused.

He also said if anything is fair in the world Dallas will beat minnesota, mentioned that wade phillips was grilled locally and nationally for giving dallas the weekend off when we played the giants and brad childress gave his team the whole week off and no one said anything about it.

Barber is active but they dont know how they will use him...

You know what sucks?

There's still an hour til kickoff. These guys gotta be pumped, because I even want to strap on a football helmet and hit someone right now.

A bunch of books?

Why is he reading? The only book he should be reading is the playbook!

(Disclaimer: It was a joke.)

Babe said to expect a heavy dose of Felix.

Good, we need Felix to bring it today.

I want Favre, Rice, Harvin and Peterson to spend most of the game standing on the sidelines while we tear out the heart of their defense.

I want to see Felix run the ball more than 20 times if necessary today.

One thing that I think people haven't considered about Felix is that he has spent so much time as a backup that there must be so little wear and tear on his body compared to most premier backs his age.

I honestly don't see any reason for Felix to really go over 20 carries today, especially if the backups are healthy. 15-20 carries is just perfect for Felix in my opinion. I love the fact that Felix doesn't have a ton of unnecessary wear and tear, and I'd like to keep it that way as long as we have competent backups.

Why is he reading books at a time like this? He should be studying film.

I would like to keep Felix to 15 carries if we jump on them early and don't need him to do it.

However, if we need to keep him churning out yards late into the game I want us to have the confidence to stretch him out to the 20-25 carries.

Look at it this way - if we lose today he has the whole offseason to rest. So if we need him to run 25 times, we should have the confidence that he can do it. He has fresh legs right now.

BTW, the lack and wear and tear is a definite huge plus for us. A premier back like him would often run 25 times a game in college for 12 games a year for 3 or 4 years. That means potentially an extra 1000-1200 carries and all the hits that his body would have absorbed.

The other positive is that lots of his runs back in Arkansas weren't between the tackles but on the perimeter which also means less pounding overall.

During the regular season, I would agree that we should try and keep him to 10-20 carries hopefully averaging about 15. Just use him enough to win games and use the backups whenever we don't need him. I would like a spot just for a short yardage/goalline back so he doesn't have to absorb the hits. I actually think Choice could do this for us - great vision in between the tackles and some speed to go outside.

I think 20 touches would be a good number to shoot for.15 rushes and 5 receptions.

To each his own I suppose. Different players get ready for games in different ways.

At least he didn't pull a McNabb and hang out at a bar before the game.
