Two strategies for beating the Giants
Offensive Strategy-
Attack, attack, attack- weather permitting, this is a game in which the Cowboys must attack by throwing the ball down the field early. I’d like to see them start off the game with deep balls. Even if we go three and out, this will set the tone. the giants hang their hat on their run defense (ranked 7) they have not faced a team with a good passing attack since the first dallas game ( I’m calling the Commander game an anomaly). By going deep early this should open up the middle of the field for Whiten, Keyshaw and Crayton and give our backs some room to run. Obviously the concern with this is that it exposes our tackles and if the Giants sack us, we play into their defensive strength. Our young tackles need to step up and be ready from the first snap.
Defensive Strategy-
Ballhawk, ballhawk, ballhawk,- This strategy will consist of playing more coverages-mixing zone and man and changing up in the fourth quarter. Ballhawk is a more patient form of defense, not as aggressive but i think we can get pressure with our front four, throwing in a blitz every now and then. Minnesota used this very well against the giants. Eli has proven he can beat the blitz, but he could have at least two to three interception a game based on how many opposing teams have dropped. He gets impatient and will throw arrant passes into coverage. it will be important for us to fight our tendencies in the fourth and mix it up a bit. he has shown to be a good 4th quarter QB. of coarse this is all mute if the boys can’t slow down Tiki in both the running and passing game. I think if we make getting picks a priority we will have some opportunities.
Anyway that’s my two cents.
