I don't know if I mentioned this idea in a thread before. If I did, I do apologise. However, with that said, I'd love to see Rammstein be the Halftime Show for the next Super Bowl. For those who do not know who they are, Rammstein is a German Metal band. I'm personally not impressed with a lot of the recent halftime shows in the Super Bowl, and I think this is a band who could really provide some thrills and entertainment. They are a highly entertaining band with their visuals. Most of their songs are in German, which makes sense with them being from Germany. With that said, music transcends language barriers, and many of their songs are catchy, even with them being in German. Can't help but sing along despite it being another language.

Their best known song (though, my favourite song by them is actually Sonne which translates to Sun) is a song called "Du Hast" which technically means "You Have" but, according to a friend of mine who is German, Hasst, if used with an extra S, means Hate. So, when they're saying "Du Hast Mesch", they are saying "You Hate Me". Here is the live version of the song from a show they did in Paris:

Personally, I think this would be an EPIC song for the Cowboys to take the field to. Firstly, it'd be a nice ode to Dirk Nowitzki who was a huge reason why the Mavericks had success when he played for them. Secondly, it'd be a way to get the crowd even further excited because of how catchy the song is. Imagine AT&T Stadium filled with fans singing this song. This would be sort of like in Europe during European football games when fans sing in unison. It gets the crowd into the game, it sets the tone for the game and crowd, and it intimidates the opposition. Thirdly, the pyrotechnics that the Cowboys like to use whilst the team takes the field can be well timed to key parts of the song. Fourthly, the drum beat and the guitar riffs would serve 2 purposes for the Cowboys. Firstly, I think that'd be a brilliant way to fire up the Cowboys on game day. Imagine the team hearing Du Hast. When I hear that song and am playing video games, it makes me play even harder just because the song has that vibe of making me want to destroy my opponent. Imagine that with the Cowboys hearing it. With how competitive the players are, I'd imagine they'd love this song. Also, it'd be quite intimidating to the opposition because they'd be hearing this song and seeing how fired up the Cowboys are to this song. American Football, after all, is a mental game just as much a physical game. If you can get in the heads of the opponents, you can make it much harder for them to have success. Thus, this song, imo, would do just that to the opposition while also getting our team excited.

I'd also like to point out that some teams will use songs going into the 4th quarter. When I watched the Cowboys play Chicago at Soldier Field in December, I noticed that they played "For Whom the Bell Tolls" by Metallica going into the 4th Quarter to fire up the fans and team. I understand that the Steelers use "Renegade" by Styx going into the 4th quarter. So, even if we don't use it for taking the field, perhaps we could make "Du Hast" the song for us going into th 4th Quarter. Or Feuer Frei could be the song for that. It means Free Fire. So, essentially, by playing that song, we'd be telling the Cowboys to Fire at Will on the opposition. I shall post that song in the next comment for you all to hear. So, I think it could be quite interesting heading Du Hast as we take the field and Feuer Frei going into the 4th quarter.

So yes, I think Rammstein would make a great Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, just as importantly, I think they have a few songs that could be highly entertaining for our fans at the game while also useful to the Cowboys. What say you all?

Please enjoy Feuer Frei:

This is a live version as the Official Video may be a problem here. Do view it if you wish however. Rammstein tends to push limits a bit more than most bands.

Rock on homie...I'm down with that idea. I'd watch something different like Rammstein any day over a Beyonce/Swift cover type puke. Wouldn't kill the US to have some exposure in general so half time show of German Death Metal would be pretty cool tbh...I could see Mike Tirico now squirming while introducing them lol

I've always thought this song was a good boxing/team intro song too (gets you hyped etc)

Hmm, I like what you posted. Perhaps that'd be how we'd take the field and Du Hast could be our 4th quarter song?

And you're exactly right. It wouldn't kill the US to let a German band play a Super Bowl Halftime Show. They have had international acts before. The tricky bit is that Rammstein may upstage the Super Bowl with how amazing their shows tend to be. I haven't seen them live yet but I want to do badly. But hey, the NFL would probably gain a sizeable European audience as Rammstein is huge in Europe.

Haha, seeing Mike Tirico's introduction would be great. The only trouble is he best pronounce their name properly hehe. Lucky for the NFL, they wouldn't have to provide the pyrotechnics as you can see. Till Lindmann, the lead singer, is a pyrotechnic. So, he can bring his own and, as you see in the songs, it'll be more impressive than what the NFL would have for them.

Yeah the NFL would never do anything that extreme...even my punk self was (hope they don't burn that place down). Song was catchy like you said though even not knowing the lang. I could see the place being stone silent too tho unf. in some arenas...queue to the 20 yo hottie like "yeahhh I can't twerk to this" but I'm down deftly...rap sucks in arenas lol
That would be a show stealer most definitely. Could see players sitting in the tunnel to watch
.

Sort of like when the Cowboys were watching Michael Jackson perform during Super Bowl 27. I'd imagine the players would sneak a look to see the amazing show. Also, if we use Du Hast as the opening song or 4th quarter, that might give our team some extra oomph as I mentioned. As for the 20 year old, they'd be too busy getting being frozen in place by how magnificent the show is. Unfortunately, the NFL, as you said, would probably never go for Rammstein as it'd upstage them. No matter the gain they'd have from doing that. They'd have to swallow a bit of pride, but they could gain a sizeable audience. On top of that, I think they'd gain a lot of respect for being willing to go this route.

On top of that all, Rammstein plays a lot of their live shows in big stadiums and big arenas. Their music is meant to be loud. Thus, Du Hast would be perfect to rev up the Cowboys and the fans in the stadium.

Envision the Cowboys starters the announcer saying their names running onto the field...

"Starting at Wide Receiver Amari Cooper..crowd cheering....

Starting at Tight End Blake Jarwin...

To final spot .... Starting at Quarterback Team Captain Dak Prescott....

Cowboys starters being introduced onto the field. For me it still works. It gives this hero legend like quality to them.

As soon as the TV goes for a commercial break Cowboys get ready for the opening kickoff and play this song and players hype the crowd until back from break and the kickoff.
