Houston Texans and their outstanding, first-round drafted, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud fall to the Baltimore Ravens.

No rookie quarterback-led team has ever appeared in or won a Super Bowl. Ever.

The record includes Super Bowl LI.

On to the 2024 season.

You could make a case that Warner was a rookie. Even though he wasn't officially one

Was it realistic to think Stroud and Love were going to make it all the way to the Super Bowl? They both have young teams. No one had either of them winning their WC games.

Agreed. Unfortunately, not everyone makes that correlation in years where circumstances are the same or similar.

The Rex Ryan coached/Mark Sanchez-led New York Jets have arguably been the best example of rookie quarterback potentially breaching the Super Bowl appearance/winning ceiling. And very few, if any, observers saw them playing the Colts to advance to Super Bowl XLIV.

Brett Favre left the team before the season. The Jets former second round draft pick, veteran Kellen Clemens, was beaten out in preseason competition by rookie Sanchez. Ryan gambled with his starting quarterback appraisal and it almost paid off.

This is in large part due to opportunity. Not the QB being a rookie. How many QBs drafted high in the first round go to good teams? Most of them never have a chance to get to a SB in their rookie year.

A lot of QBs sat for a year or so in the past. Didn't Tom Brady sit for year? First year in, won it. Mahomes never had a chance in his rookie season.

I just think it's happenstance and a lack of opportunity. Big Ben almost did it, got knocked off by the Patriots. He's been knocked off by that team for almost his entire career. Was Purdy a rookie last year? We don't know what would have happened had he not got injured. But he wasn't a high draft pick.

Even those rookies intentionally drafted to become the immediate franchise quarterback AND landed on a quality football team.

Washington not getting to the SB had zero to do with them having a rookie QB, and everything to do with them not being nearly as good as the Eagles.

With the turnovers and Barkley giving up 55 points goodness was this DQ’s Green Bay nightmare .

The Cowboys came one last series D collapse from sweeping the Commanders . Let’s pick up some key spots in the off-season and compete for a playoff spot . This is not a Jax Tenn Cleveland Vegas gutter team
