I wonder how persistant it is? What if one breathes it? What if it is unwittingly consumed after settling on food? Is there a solvent? Is there a measurable electrical field? How would it affect the chemoelectricity in our bodies? If it also repels grease and oil, it must be lipophobic as well. If sprayed onto skin, does it soak in? Will it wear off?

I want to spray some on my golf ball when I play the water hole on my local course. This could get interesting, maybe I could skip the ball off the water and drive the green - nah, that would be cheating.

all great questions and probably the reason it isn't available for retail yet. do you think it would make your ball more skip-able? I don't play golf, is it not possible to skip the ball as it is?

would you need too? moisture is what makes your clothes smell. in the video he mentions that dirt and what not would adhere to the water and the water would just shoot off so you could just spray off the dirt and be good to go.

imagine playing a football game in the rain but the only thing that gets wet is the ball and your skin; no heavy jersey, and wet socks weighing you down.

That's essentially how Rain-X works. If you've never used it, you should try it. You don't have to use your wipers at ALL in heavy rain. Be careful though, you start watching it work and get distracted while driving. The rain just sheds immediately off of your windshield...
