if the draft goes according to plan, well the 1st round at least, either Wimbley, Carpenter or Lawson, do you think we would present the most talented, on paper mind you, D in the league? I mean, we're gonna be stacked!

disclaimer: I know talent on paper gets you nothing in this league, but you got to like the odds

I don't think so.

Although we think highly of Spears and Canty, they haven't done anything in the NFL yet. And Ferguson had an average year last year, at best. Greg Ellis isn't great in the 3-4 (or the 4-3 for that matter).

So our DL is nothign special (until they prove themselves).

At LB we'll have a 4th year guy just starting to come around (James), an FA (Ayodele) who has been solid to good his career, a rookie, and our best LB (but still hasn't proven to be "Great") Ware.

The secondary, again, will be our strength. Not many teams can match our top 3 CBs, and we have the best SS in football. FS will be improved (either by Coleman, the draft, or Davis improving) but likely won't be anything spectacular this year.

I think our D will be better, but it won't be dominant in 2006.

I will wait on the experience first, however, potentially you could be right!

There was no noticable difference between Ellis in the 4-3 and the 3-4. 8 Sacks in 13 starts is pretty darn good. I think we have every capability to have the most dominant 3-4 line. Canty was already good last year. And Spears should have a breakout year.

Real positive thought, but our young D has alot to prove before we can even think about making such claims.

I agree with Rack...It has to be proven first but I like our chances:)

Not yet in 2006, but it would be headed in the right direction. Too much youth. Give them a year together and in 2007 I'd say it is possible, depending upon what other teams go out and do themselves.

I'd still want to see FS fixed before I said this anyway.

I think Dallas has a chance to be a top 5 defense in this league regardless of who we select on draft day. I think the young guys will be more comfortable with what they are doing and it will show up this season.
