The most likely ‘bold change’ Jerry could make is to try to copy the Tampa Bay approach in 2001 when they replaced Dungy with Gruden.

Dungy had much regular season success over 5 years (btw less than McCarthy) but had gone 2-4 in the playoffs.

They fire Dungy and hire Gruden and they win the Super Bowl immediately his first year.

This is the only big move that Jerry will consider. He isn’t going to rebuild and trade away the key players. Get out of la la land.

Who is the John Gruden that can take these players to the Super Bowl?

I’m a Harbaugh believer. He’s a bit of a nutcase, but that’s why he’s a good coach. What he did in SF is still one of the more impressive coaching jobs over the last 2 decades. Then he went to college and instantly made Michigan dominant

Would he want to coach for Jerry if other options are on the table?

Not really that close of a comparison but i get where youre coming from.

Dungy rebuilt the team from nothing though and was trending up.
Chucky did well but i feel like Dungy couldve done the same for sure.

Dungy did later on go to the colts and win a sb
