Vital to implement TE Jake Ferguson back into this offense

The angle of his pie slice might get a bit smaller, but hopefully the whole offensive pie will grow
Yes, I think it becomes how do we want to attack specific team defenses.

How will CD react by getting less targets?

How will Pickens react, on a contract year, if does not get the number of targets he feels he deserves?

Dak and Shotty are going to need to figure out how to properly manage and distribute the football.

If our OLine can give Dak time, it should be a fun offensive season and we are going to need a lot of points to win games.

Fine, run the 12 personnel . But that doesn't mean you have to draft a backup, role player with a premium pick such as a 2nd rounder.

But that's water under the bridge and we're stuck with that mistake to let it run its course.
Hopefully it's a learning experience.
The drafted Schoonmaker, because they had no idea what they had in Ferguson.

Yeah, even with a backup QB, less than 8.5 yards/catch and no TDs is just an awful stat line. I think he can bounce back but how much better is he really than Schoon?

Ferguson last year just had everything go wrong

So we do not know if 2023 or 2024 is the norm for him. This year should tell the tale
I tend to agree with @Cowboyny here. Coming off a strong 2023, and with no viable #2, he got attention from defenses he could really beat. In 2023, teams still respected Cooks. 2025 he should be looking at a decent amount of single coverage with S and LB's

If it makes anyone feel better, Witten had a great second season then calmed down on the stats his 3rd and 4th seasons.

Still… better numbers than Fergy and his 0 TDs. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Offense was in disarray last year, he’ll do better, but we also probably bought too much of the Cowboys hype machine thinking we had another potential star TE. Maybe just meant to be a solid player?

Jake just looked uninspiring last season. He appeared to be lazy on his routes and not great blocking either. He better be better or this staff will replace him. No free lunch. Watch out for this udfa kid Fairweather. He might sneak up on folks and make the team and eventually push for meaningful reps.

Are you out of your mind?

Ferguson has been - and barring a miracle by Luke or injury to Ferguson will continue to be - the much better player.
Not from what I saw last year. And the reports of him gaining more weight after it seemed he lost some of his athletic ability isn’t gonna help.

But more importantly….Luke is a second round pick. We keep giving Ferg the benefit of the doubt based on what he looked like over a season ago.

I don’t think Ferg gets cut but so I see guys like Spann Ford and Luke getting more snaps? I certainly do.

This front office will probably tag him ,if anything because we drafted him, so of course like they always do, overvalue the player. It's like a hoarder that believes there junk is more valuable than anyone else's. So what do they do, overprice it so no one will have it, but THEM.

If you are a Ferguson fan then enjoy him while he is still a Cowboys because I think this is his last year in Dallas.

Too soon to call Schoonmaker a bust. Look up Dalton Schultz's stats for his first two years. Schultz had 13 receptions for 122 yards and 0 TDs in his first 2 years. Schoonmaker has 35 receptions for 306 yards and 3 TDs in his first 2 years.

Schultz played behind Witten. Schoonmaker is playing behind Ferguson. I would also argue Schoonmaker is a better blocker in the run game than Schultz.
