Teams should be able to throw flag for a no call

After seeing that face mask that wasn't called on Sam Darnold last night, if you can throw a red flag to dispute a call on the field, you should be able to throw a flag for a lack of a call if it is so blatant that everyone can knows it was missed.

Don't get me wrong, you could probably find a hold that wasn't called on almost every play, but... if the team only has one flag per half, of course they would have to be careful how they use it.

That saints and that no pass interference call in the playoffs come to mind where it's such a botched call, a team should be able to call it if no call was made.

I don't get too worked up over this non call. Because I think he gets sacked with or without the facemask. Like holding on a TE on the right side of the line during a sweep left. But I'm not a big fan of gift penalties. Any of them.

The Saints/Rams game. The refs did say they thought the ball got there at around the same time. They're making a call at full speed. One second goes by a lot slower in slow motion.

Back in 2022 the refs were reviewing a play to determine of an Eagles player was down before he fumbled. Ruling was that he fumbled, but you can clearly see his facemask was grabbed and pulled. But they couldn't change the missed call.

The defender not once looked back at the ball. It was a blatant PI no matter how close the ball was because the defender guessed on when to hit the receiver without once ever looking back.

I believe they brought this subject up at the owners meeting, and it got left on the table.

If you can throw a red flag to debate by review of replay, you should be able to throw a flag for a blatant non call.

Sooner or later it will happen to Dallas and then perhaps everyone would agree with me.

You don't have to look back if you get there at the same time as the ball. Or if the ball gets there first. But much like this recent facemask, they also missed the clear hit to the head, which was a personal foul. Maybe one day they'll allow a coach to throw the red flag for a missed personal foul.
