Terry Bradshaw: 'I pray' NFL does not reduce Ben Roethlisberger's suspension

Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw renewed his criticism of Ben Roethlisberger on Wednesday and said he's rooting for the NFL to impose the maximum penalty on the Pittsburgh Steelers QB.

Bradshaw, who sharply scolded Roethlisberger when the QB was under investigation for an alleged sexual assault this spring, said the NFL should not lower the 4-6 game ban imposed on him by commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.

Bradshaw said, via the Shreveport Times.

Personally, I find six games laughable. He should be suspended for a minimum of a year. Then and only then should they even discuss his possible return to the NFL.

To play in the NFL is a privilege. One he does not deserve.

Problem is he hasn't been arrested. It's one thing to get arrested and then found not guilty. But I think it's another to not even be arrested. I think he should be suspended, but even as I am a critic of Goodell, there's not a lot he can really do here.

I disagree. The NFL should have zero tolerance.

And how is a four-game suspension, in this case, not zero tolerance?

Bradshaw 'disappointed' by Goodell's decision
Fox Sports

Not every Steelers fan was thrilled by news of Ben Roethlisberger's suspension reduction.

One day after vigorously opposing any sort of lighter ruling by the NFL office against the Steelers' starting QB, FOX NFL Sunday's Terry Bradshaw reiterated his opposition to Roger Goodell's adjusted punishment.

"I'm disappointed in the reduction," Bradshaw told FOXSports.com, "but it's his (NFL commissioner Goodell) call, not mine."

On Thursday the four-time Super Bowl champion and Steelers legend Bradshaw repeated his scathing public criticism of the team's current QB Roethlisberger, who was originally suspended for a maximum of six weeks on April 21 due to violation of the league's personal conduct policy.

In an interview with The Shreveport Times, Bradshaw admitted disgust with the current QB's behavior.
