We’re officially in the dog days of summer.
And for football players in Texas, the summer heat can pose problems.
Usually not this problem, though.
Anthony Taylor, a senior cornerback at Allen High School, had the bottom part of his Nike cleats literally melt during practice on Wednesday.
Matt Garnett of the Dallas Morning News reported the temperature reached 106 degrees, which marked the hottest opening football practice for the team in 13 years.

No the cleats did not melt, the adhesive holding the cleat hard shell sole to the upper leather bod of the shoe melted.
