I've taken a timeout of my personal boycott to post this public message.

This is just an FYI of a text message bank card scam I came across this weekend.
I received a text message on my phone claiming to be from my bank telling me my bank card has been blocked and that I needed to call this 800 number to unblock it.
I immediately thought it looked fishy, so I called my bank using the number on the back of my card rather than the number the text message game me. They said they had no blocked the account and that it was most definitely a scam of some sort.
I gave the bank the number that the text message gave me so they could investigate it and have it disconnected. I then called the number and it ask me for my card number, expiration, and my PIN number. (I entered all fake information) It then claimed that my account had be re-activated. (even with the false information)
This is just a warning. If you receive one of these text messages, call your bank using the number on your bank card, not the one listed in the text message. My bank said they would never send you to an automated machine to reactive a card in a case like this. You would be spoken too by a real person due to nature of what would cause your account to be disabled in the first place.
The text message I got was the following:
The two things that make it clear it was a fake was the following. The account number shown isn't mine (first clue) as the bank card isn't a mastercard. It also doesn't start with a 5. (second clue) Mastercards numbers start with 5s, Visa 4s, American Express 3s, and Discover starts with 6s.
