Your presence in the lineup as the "backup" center means we can deactivate both the backup guards on gameday. I can't see how Parcells could do it if he didn't think Gurode could fill in (for a game, not a season).

I thought Gurode was supposed to be cut ? Who said that ?

Gurode is going to become the starter i have a feeling, as good as AJ was looking early on. his size gives him the advantage on the big, physical type of OL Parcells prefers and that we as Cowboys fans are used to seeing. just wear down the defense, pound on them relentlessly, give no quarter...
we almost let him get away, misusing his talent on the RT spot. thank God BP saw the folly of his ways and moved him back to C where he belongs...

But But...Nors said !...

Dre is a physical beast, and he is starting to "get it". I see him as the starter by the end of the season. Al already caused a fumble week 1. He is just over matched by larger nose tackles.

I believe he rotates in with Al as it is. And that's how we should keep it. Keep our OL fresh the entire game.

I wouldn't mind bringing Johnson in on pulling run plays, as he's excellent at pulling.

I do think he's got the edge against big NT. However, Al is probably alot better at pulling and not whiffing on his blocks in space. It just depends on what type of run is being called.

I got no problem with them doing what they're doing all season long, because frankly Peterman and Noll aren't ready imo if there is an injury to one of the starters. Plus I think Johnson is pretty good as a center, no worse than Gurode anyway.

Just not on ALL pulling plays. I would think the defense would figure that out pretty soon. ;) Throw in some pass plays, as well. I do believe we need to rotate the Centers to get the max from their talent, and keep them fresh.
Remember when Landry used to rotate his guards every play because he used them to shuttle in plays?

It's good to see Gurode gettin' some love from this board after most everyone had him cut before TC. Hope he keeps improvin' cuz he sure has the physical abilities to be a dominating C. Does anyone remember why he was moved to OG after starting at C as a rookie? I thought he played well his rookie season, all things considered.....

BP admitted that he made a mistake putting Gurode at guard- should have left him at center where he did a good job as a rookie.

Just think, some in here were putting Johnson in the pro bowl before the season started.

I'm happy to see Gurode playing well. I was one who thought his days here were numbered, now it appears that hes turned things around and really contributing. :starspin

For doing your job.

Thanks for being able to handle multiple positions on the line. To dress most backups on the line you need that. Its all good that our second string right side of line are backups this year. Better team and depth.....

i think Al will be fine- he won't see a better NT all year than Jamal Williams.

Rotate in the WR's while your at it. We have two aging ones there.

Price and Crayton need to be in there
