Thanksgiving memories

My older brother was home from the Air Force Academy that weekend. I vaguely remember him and my other brother jumping off the couch in excitement. Me? Too busy playing with my Evel Knievel stunt cycle. That toy ruled.

Sounds just like you Cap Gun: :) Again why am I not surprised....:lmao2:

I remember knocking over a full glass of DrPepper into a box of Christmas decorations.

The loss to Miami a couple of years back was haunting. It ruined Thanksgiving for me.

Hopefully, this Thanksgiving is one of great celebration.

The game three years ago was brutal but my son was born later that night so regardless of the game, the day holds good memories.

I will never ever forget the Leon Lett thanksgving game. Our entire friends and family were so confused at what happened. We went from total joy to utter disbelief.

That was also the first time I had ever seen "snow" in real life.

my fondest is watching Julius bust out against the Bears Turkey Day 2004, it was one of the happiest moments in my life as a Cowboy fan, cuz I knew then and there that we had our franchise back

Ohh god dont let me get started on that game. I went to that game with 5 dolphin fans and one cowboy fan. I'm still hearing to this day how the waxed us. To make matters worse the one dolphin fan made the local sports section. They got a picture of him holding up a jay feidler jersey. They guy had a career day against us on turkey day, and let me tell you their offense was abysmal up to that point. Bad, Bad turkey day loss.

No kidding. Norv called the game of his life on offense that day for the Dolphins, it was unbelievable how they could do no wrong.

Miamicowboys, you're here in S. Fla. like me, and you know that the fans and media here are still waiting for Chambers to have another game like he did that day.

No one's brought up the 31-3 (or something close to that) drubbing of the Giants in '92 that was a good indicator of just how good the team was really getting and the mission they were on that year. I know the Giants were starting Dave Brown and Kent Graham at QB back in those days with Ray Handley on the sidelines, but it was still fun to watch.

Hutchinson, Bryant and Galloway slapping the Commanders (especially Steve Spurrier) silly a few years ago was fun.

It was a lost season, but somehow that day got me excited like no other game that season. It will always stand out to me as one of those "No matter how bad the Cowboys are, they can pummel the 'Skins" days. Plus, you can't beat Cowboys-Commanders on Thanksgiving.

I know it's terrible, but has there ever been anything more memorable than this?

I want to know. I was like 10.

I was 10 also but a diehard Cowboy fan at that age. That literally ruined my Thanksgiving weekend.

I had taped the game that day and was watching it "live" later in that I didn't know the score.

My mom came in just as the kicked was blocked and saw how happy I was but said, watch, then that drug addicted goof went after the ball and cost us a win.

We didn't lose another game that year though so it was not all bad.

Leon Let "oh my goodness".
Ouch. My condolences. To go from such a high to a low really hits you in the gut. I couldn't eat diner that night.

Clint Longley and the Commanders in the 70's. Oh my dad lost a lot of money on that game. Last time he bet against the boys.

I've been really fortunate with the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. I live in Richmond, VA - heart of deadskin land. I first went to see the cowboys in dallas on turkey day in 1996. They beat the skins. I started a tradition of going on Thanksgiving after that. I saw them beat Jimmy and the Dolpins (Marino had 5 picks). I saw Randy Moss absolutely kill them. I saw them almost make a comeback against the Broncos (with Ryan Leaf as QB...freaking Ryan Leaf). I saw them beat the 'Spurrier' skins with CHUD (yes, CHUD) Hutchinson at QB. I saw the first start of the Henson era....what happened? But Julius broke out. I haven't been back since - kids changed the deal. But I hope to bring them down in the next couple of years.

I can't wait for tomorrow. Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't think of Thanksgiving without this question playing over and over in my mind and making me smile.

"Who the hell is Clint Longley?"

I remember Earl Campbell running wild in '79; crushing the Seahawks in '80; beating the Browns during the strike year; the infamous Bounty Bowl; Beuerlein beating the Steelers after Troy went down at RFK; Randy Moss torching us in 1998; losing to a dog-butt Oiler team despite a nice game from Sherman Williams; etc.

1: Leave it alone, Leon
2: Jason Garrett Owning the Packers in 1994
3: Jay Novacheck owning the Chiefs in 1995
4: The entire Dallas defense owning Dan Marino in 1999
5: Randy Moss owning the Cowboys secondary in 1998

Ah yes, the Ryan Leaf game, the one where Campo thought it would be easier for us to score three times in the last ten minutes than twice with two point conversions. We were down 16 and the dummy went for one after our first td.

there's obviously a ton for me since I've been watching them for so long (31 yrs now)...but for some reason I really like the 1990 win vs Washington...Troy had a great game, Emmitt ran wild and made Darrell Green look bad on a TD run of around 48 yds...we had beaten the Rams on the road the previous week, then won a close game vs New Orleans and followed that up with a blowout of the Cardinals to get to 7-7...unfortunately Aikman seperated his shoulder early in the Philly game and we lost to them and Atlanta to finish 7-9 and just miss the playoffs

but that win vs Washington was huge, and they were a playoff team that yr...we showed we were really getting good with this win

How about vs the Dolphins in '92. You know, "and the kick is blocked....and Leon Lett.....oh no!!!"

That was '93. The '92 game was against the Giants.
