GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY!

A really good article from examiner.com on the rivalry.

Just Another Game. Well, Not Really.

WEST POINT -- Rich Ellerson is a stern disciple of the church of taking one game at a time, every game is its own season and don’t start even thinking about the next game until the imminent one is completed. Fair enough. So, naturally, just days before Army’s game against Temple last month, the Black Knights’ head coach was talking about…Navy.

"Drive down the street and read the front of the buildings. It's there,” he said. “It's there with you 24/7 every day you're here. That's not unique to last week or the week before. That's here. That's where the discussion comes up. People want to talk about that. It's always there. It's there every time you turn a corner. What we can't let it do is turn into something that it's not.”

Stand Navy out to sea
Fight our battle cry:
We'll never change our course
So vicious foes steer shy-y-y-y
Roll out the T. N. T.
Anchors Aweigh
Sail on to victory
And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!

Yo ho there shipmate
Take the fighting to the far off seas
Yo ho there messmate
Hear the wailing of the wild banshees
All hands, fire brands
Let's Blast them as we go. So

Stand Navy, down the field, sails set to the sky.
We'll never change our course, so Army you steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll up the score, Navy, Anchors Aweigh
Sail, Navy, down the field and sink the Army, sink the Army Grey.

Heave a ho there sailor
Everybody drink up while you may
Heave a ho there sailor
For your gonna sail at break of day
Drink away, Drink away,
For you sail at break of day, Hey!

Blue of the Mighty Deep
Gold of God’s Sun
Let these our colors be
Till all time be done
By Severn Shore we learn
Navy’s stern call
Faith, Courage, Service True
With Honor Over, Honor Over All.

It's on Grey! ;)

Oh hell naw! :D You're about to find out about (after 10 years, fingers and toes crossed) the Army Team, the Pride And Dream of Every Heart in Gray!

Served in the Army but never got into the Army football team nor the other service teams.

Sue me. :p:

With that said, I have heard that The Rivalry: Mystery at the Army-Navy Game by John Feinstein is a must read for Army/Navy football fans.

Always had a soft spot for Navy because of my grandfather. Ken Niajdfhfjvfnvfnhcfjdnjcd is a hell of a coach.

Are you always on the other end from me:) When i was in the Army we honestly didn't pay much attention to this game, well not the OCS officers, West Pointers cared.

I tell you what - that was the best effort I've seen from Army in all my years.

There were some LONG and NERVOUS faces on the Navy fans there in the 4th quarter for a bit. The 2nd and 5 play call was baffling. We were gashing them running outside the tackles all day.

That's also the most fired up I've seen the Corps of Cadets since my first Army-Navy game.

Great time...we need to get better on defense, but I think we're finally starting to get closer to being pretty good, and finally turning this thing back around to retake the lead in wins.

I was pulling for Army and it was an exciting game. Just could not overcome Navy.
