It sold for $3,400,000. People sure do love their icons.
Wouldn't be so collectible in the shape it's in, if not for the history. That's a rare auto without the movie connection. Superior collectible.
Or an investment. It sold for $3,400,000. People sure do love their icons.
It was an investment for the guy who owned it before. He bought it for something like $3500, 40 something years ago. I don't know how much of an investment it is when you pay 3.4 million dollars though. I think that's just someone with too much money.Or an investment.
Yeah they bought it simply because they canIt was an investment for the guy who owned it before. He bought it for something like $3500, 40 something years ago. I don't know how much of an investment it is when you pay 3.4 million dollars though. I think that's just someone with too much money.
Wonder how much the original Mad Max Interceptor is worthIt sold for $3,400,000. People sure do love their icons.
Those two along with Ronin are usually cited as the best car chasesThat movie had one of if not the most iconic chase scenes, between that one and the one in The French Connection
Exactly....and so they can tell their neighbors, "That's the car Steve McQueen drove in Bullitt."Yeah they bought it simply because they can
I'm pretty sure they'll leave it as is. That'd be like cleaning the patina off a Civil War gun.I guess at 3.4mil it's driving days are over.
Wonder if they'll keep it in the same condition or restore it original condition IE paint and other touchups.
I don't know, I think I'd at least want one that looks nice. Not one that's all beat up with faded paint. Just my opinion. If I was able to blow three million on a car, I can't think of many more deserving than that one.
