Ok, the microwave potato.

Need a big red potato stick it in the micro for 8 minutes.

ding

Ok, now put it in a small bowl cut it in half, now take a knife and make cuts all across both sides, now its salt and pepper time add plenty. Next up sour cream on one side, butter on the other, plenty of both. Now ya need some Cheetos, ya crunch them into a powder spread it over the butter/sour cream, now.....taco sauce. Next ya dice some onion, spread it on the powder. What's left....cheese. Can go with a couple different ones, yep, ya grate the cheese and plenty of it. Last but not less.....chillie. Chille goes on top of al that. Now back in the micro for one more minute.

In a word.....yummy.

The small bowl keeps everything snug,

That's not a baked potato, that's a la papa al horno and it's not even that because a baked potato is made with a russet potato, not a red potato.

That recipe looks like a bunch of stoners found some red potatoes and Cheetos in the pantry.

Once I got to the sour cream I was done. I have sour cream and anything made with it. It all tastes like sour milk to me. My taste is extremely sensitive to that kind of sour flavor. Ranch dressing or anything Ranch makes we want to puke!

I can taste sour cream in cheese cake no matter how much the chef tries to mask it. It ruins it for me. Otherwise, these potatoes sound great

Bottom line is creativity, there are all kinds of ways to make one of these potatos. Chopped up ham, 4 different cheeses, crunched up Funyuns to a powder, you can get funky and I do.

Sour cream is weird, it's like catsup, mustard, how could ya eat that stuff by it's self, yep, weird.

Cut down the middle, add sour cream on one side, butter on the other, salt and pepper, now add diced onion, diced jalapeno pepper, nice grated cheese, a couple different kind, now add the chilli. Micro wave time to melt it all together.

Yummy!

Make a salt and water brine and roll the potato in it and let it dry. Cook at 325 for 45-60 depending on the size of the potato. Take out and crank the oven to 425 and coat the potato with olive oil. Cook 10 minutes, pull out and make an X in the top and squeeze the ends together and voila, restaurant baked potato. The skin is crispy and salty like a chip.

I mix butter, sour cream, salt, pepper and chives together to add to the potato and all the flavors blend and melt well.

You could have just told them it was my recipe

Baked potatoes are freaking awesome. No way to ruin them. I prefer the classic loaded one myself like in the pic above, but I'll try all the crazy inventions too like the OP's favorite.

Try a loaded baked potato salad. Boil the potatoes, cut them up and add all the baked potato ingredients. Butter, bacon bits, sour cream, chives.....mix it like potato salad. Good hot or cold.
