So like the rest of you..

I am just sick about the state of our team.

I was discussing this with Bullflop in another thread but I think it's worth it's own thread.

I always enjoyed The Lion King story. I saw the Broadway cast when they came thru San Antonio years back. A great experience.

But my point is..our team has recently gone thru what I now see as a death experience in 2020.

With the coaching changes and losing Dak and scores of injuries on top of everything most of us do not recognize our team anymore.

It's causing anger and frustration and remorse up and down the fan tree.

But if you know the Lion King story..when something dies..it is replaced by something new.

We have to stand back and watch..not argue and pout and waggle fingers. The Jones' know it's difficult right now. And the team does too.

And the injured players are probably putting some of the blame on themselves that they are hurt and not contributing right now. It can't be helped.

But having watched this team for 50 years I will suggest the Circle of Life will return us to again to become relevant again given some time.

It is certainly going to require our injured to return healthy and our coaches to capitalize on their mistakes and show the leadership required..the owner ship to plan for the future..

becuz our Lion King..Jerrah is aging and needs support.

And we need support for each other. It's hard right now. We are all suffering. And we all show it differently. Some get angry and point fingers. Others silently mourn. Others start to mentally pack it in and give up.

No matter.we all deal with it.

But we will be back. We are not an expansion team that is just getting started here. We have everything needed to be good again.

But it will take some time..some drafts some wins and some luck and renewed confidence which we have in abundant supply in Cowboyzone.

It's just a fact. We all see it.

So as our season nears its end and we all look forward to 2020 ending and 2021 being better..

have a great Holiday and hold your families close and protect them.

Because they are future Cowboy fans and need to know how to handle adversity as well as success.

They look to us to lead.

Easy stuff..right?

Right.

What’s this “we” talk? I thought you were a saints fan now and “finally ended my longtime fandom” with the cowboys?

I think Jerry will gradually step back in his control of this team as his health permits, now and in the future. It's a question to eventually be aswered with the passage of time, as Stephen increasingly bears the burden of management. That should be an intriguing thing to see in the years to come. I'd be tickled pink if he hired a GM, as opposed to doing so himself. That, in itself, could easily become a catalyst to far greater success, imho! ;)

Just want the off season to get here. See where we draft at. And what possible changes can help the team.
Getting all the players healthy will have a lot to do with any roster changes as well.

It is immensely frustrating for long time fans who remember when Landry had 20+ consecutive winning seasons. Not every team was great but they were good most years and always in the conversation.

We go spoiled when Jimmy Johnson quickly brought the team back from an abysmal period of retiring players and bad drafts. It was almost as if we felt we were entitled to a playoff spot every season. Then came the Jerry show. Many of us have given up the notion that this team will ever contend again while Jerry and Stephen run the show, with good reason. Those of us in our golden years probably feel Jerry is going to screw us out of an opportunity to ever see the Cowboys win another Super Bowl. The Circle of Life will grab us before it turns the Cowboys into a contender again. But I didn't think I would get to see Tiger Woods win another major, but he did last year. And it was my privilege so watch it on TV.

After what this last year has brought to everyone football means so much less to me. I really don't think this team will ever be what it was. Your right about the frustration and it will always be there as the Cowboys continue to be the Browns 2.0

What cycle?
This team has been stuck some where on that cycle for 27 years.
Really... Except for faces and names, this hasn't changed much in 27 years.
The GM sucks. The players are indifferent. Coaches are handcuffed...... ... They just suck.

I second your emotion.

It is very sad for the long time fans who grew up watching us become what we became.

And since Jerrah has gotten up in years he has changed alot.

And now he deals in minor successes like drafting CeeDee. He did nothing to cause that..he merely scooped up what was left by the others.

The cycle has been here before.

It happened when Meredith retired and Stauback stepped up and Dwain Thomas got us into the '71 and '72 SB.

It happened again after the team fired Landry and hired Johnson.

And now it's happened again with hiring Big Mike and dumping Garrett.

I do not have anymore to tell you.

My points are valid.

If you disagree..go ahead.

Post a thread so I and others can exam your position.

No prob.

I agree there's usually a cycle.
But the current rut the cowboys are in started 27 years ago. When does this cycle go back to winning phase of the cycle?

The problem is that the 'Something New' will be put together and run by Jerry. Now when Jerry is the 'Something that dies' there just may be a real 'Something New'

It's more of a straight line but hopefully it starts curving it's way into a circle one of these days?!

We-uns.

The collective uses.

Where is it said I can't have more than one favorite team?

The Saint are from New Orleans. Grew up there.

Like them. Always have.

Archie Manning was royalty there.

Look at his other Manning's?

Payton and Eli.

What is there to hate.?

Unless you just hate winning.
