What do you guys think of the Cobra Blitz? If properly executed, it sends a fast player on a short path to the backfield. I love the play.

When it works I love it... not so much when it doesnt

It cost us a long touchdown to Hank Basket in the Philly game, and the board didn't seem to impressed with it.

That blitz did what it was supposed to do on that play. Ellis didn't make the tackle on McNabb and Watkins didn't stay back. The blitz didn't cost Dallas a TD, the execution of the safety mostly and Ellis did. Also, give McNabb credit. He is a QB that can beat blitzes.

all plays are great when they work. it's a big gamble type blitz so i would'nt expect to see alot of it but when a team tries to spread you out is when it works the best.i think bill is getting the confidence in the defense to give them more and more chances to let go

If the tackle is made, it's a great play. If you miss the tackle, it will kill you...

On that Philly TD, the corner lined up outside and had a long way to run to get to the QB. That looked like a normal corner blitz. On the cobra blitz, Newman lines up much closer to the line of scrimmage, almost like a linebacker.

yup, it was Henry. so they blitzed our slowest corner who is furthest away from the ball. genius, isn't it...

It wasnt the blitz that I wasnt impressed with it was the fact that Glenn wasnt on the field to cover the Basket instead of Watkins.
