I want to have this conversation with the fanbase. Not applicable for me to post my media page where I break this down via video so I shall start posting my research on here instead, and if valuable you guys can find me yourselves.
We made a decision here to pay the QB1 240M GTD. These are piss-poor statistics. This is not a bash Dak post either, I just want to say at this point in the season at 3-4 the way we have been losing, it seems like the 2024 Dallas Cowboys will be 3rd in their division playing for a top 10 draft pick. If that was the case why not let this young kid develop who did show us a glimmer of hope at least running the ball.
The 2024 season is now classified a circus by even Mike T. a well-known ESPN analyst. When looking at the financial situation of the Dallas Cowboys and team construction my only theory is the family has convinced Jerry to sign Dak to stay relevant if Jerry is out of the picture in the next 5 years as they are not competent enough without their father to rebuild the team and it may as well be too much of a mental burden for him to endure.
Jerry Jones loves the Dallas Cowboys. Trust me, they do put a mental burden on his body when they are getting embarrassed like this and he is 82 years old. At this point, money shouldn't matter much to him as he has all the money to do what he will in this world. The signing of Dak Prescott was to AVOID this type of embarassment, and have the DC leadership and team stay relevant, giving MM a slim change to continue his "program" on the up-trend.
The wheels have fallen off, the approach - well in theory was the "safe" one has now handicapped this franchise going forward. Dak not only looks older, but it does look like he is also making business decisions when it comes to running for 1st downs and extra yardage, something I thought I would never see from him because he truly did play like he loved football.
With Trey Lance we could have been in the same situation we are now, continuing to develop the team while not putting this insane mental burden on the players of thinking they are "around the rim". Instead this team would have taken the mantra of an up-and-coming young team with developmental pieces who can contend in the future - something like they are doing up in GB.
As much as we fault Hurts who is supposed to be even worse than Dak - their team has put a supporting cast around him and let him thrive with him running the ball as an option QB. We have missed that train - with Trey Lance. Many of you think he's a bust - but this would have been a perfect storm to let him develop gain confidence and then go into 2025 building and not regressing. The team is on a path of regression under this current staff, ownership and player leadership with recent contracts given to players who are not getting better.
