Saw it tonight out or curiousity, no pun intended; it was basically a "Forrest Gump" wannabe with a slow pace and a guy that ages backwards instead of a dumb ***.

I give it two stars, wait for rental, the three hour running time is not justified by the story on screen.

Yeah, I would have bet it would have been pretty good. Thanks for the heads up. Rental it is.

I thought it was good. Not the best movie ever, but worth the $9 I spent seeing it.

I actually was worried about the 2 3/4 hr run time, but it didn't seem like it was that long to me.

It has some pieces missing in the plot, but overall a pretty good movie. Pitt does a good job but it is definitely rental material...

I thought it was pretty good. It wasn't that moving, though, and probably has been overrated a good bit.

It reminded me of Big Fish. I'd say that it's worth the cost of admission.

I kinda wish it had more "tall tale" aspects like Big Fish. I mean, there was the central issue of him growing young, but other than that, not much.

Definitely worth the cost of admission, though.

It just occurred to me why this movie was like a slow Forrest Gump, Eric Roth was the screenwriter of both movies.

I thought it was outstanding, and I went in really expecting it to be a sleep aid.

My wife and a couple we know wanted to go to the movies and it was really the only thing we thought would be half way decent besides "Yes man".

I'll own it when it comes out on DVD.

See it if you haven't. Worth every penny.

I'm downloading it now. I'll try to watch it tomorrow.

Have you ever read the gump books?

Loved the Gump movie but in the books Gump was not such the "innocent" kind of guy.

But most books are better than the movies so I guess it is expected.

2 1/2 stars. I really enjoyed Cate Blanchett's performance. Pitt was just ho hum. I'm not sure if Fincher directed him to act that way, but Benjamin rarely showed any emotion. Just sort of went through life. An extremely boring character.

I enjoyed the lightning bit.

Roth wrote this before Gump, but Gump did everything better. Such as the Capt Mike character <Lietuenant Dan, using historical events to move the story along, etc.

Anyways, definitely not worth the praise it's been getting, IMO.
