There is no other team in the NFL that contrasts more than the Dallas Cowboys, from a week 11 annihilation of the Vikings on their own turf to a week 18 debacle against the lowly Commanders.
The emotional rollercoaster ride this team puts it's fans through is unbelievable at times, god only knows what we will be served up next week against Tampa Bay :(

Seems to be no accountability
Accountability left when Jimmy left. And then again when Parcells left. It is very difficult to have accountability when the Owner/GM wont allow his coaches to increase fines or dish out punishment as they see fit because he has coddled them to the point where they believe they are stars in the NFL only because they play for the Cowboys.

The Vikings beat themselves from the start. They let their statue of a QB sit back there with no real help and forgot they have a pretty good running back. Plus that team was tired from the buffalo game the week before. The way the Vikings looked pregrame and during the game was no different than what we looked like yesterday.

No coach is allowed to do that. Wade Phillips got a lot of grief but he wanted to increase fines and hold players accountable. Jerry declined.
Ok, I guess I forgot about that, I knew JJ was to involved and I also knew Jim J kept his assistants and players away from the circus part of the Jerry Show that has been going on since he left.

I think when the team is consistently inconsistent you can't help but look at the coaches. They are in charge of the game plan and the team's energy. There is no excuse to be unprepared or go through the motions. Who else is sick of hearing this team plays down to the competition? We've been hearing that for years. I really believe this team, with this owner, needs a new nonsense coach, one that demands the best of you mentally and physically.

You might make a good coach! That skill set of motivation though is not one that all coaches have, we talk about the Jimmy days on here and I know it gets old to some but his psychology and the manner in which he could motivate a player or a team is second none, he had faults obviously like not knowing how to play well with others but discipline (his way) and motivation and bringing the best out of players is rare. He could also read players like a book so you couldn't cheat on him, he knew when you weren't giving 100% and would call you out real quick like.

That's great in theory but the head coach has to be able to dish out punishment when he sees fit. If he has to get Jerry's permission, the players don't care what he says.

Get in good with Jerry and he'll protect you from the coach. That's one reason why I don't think it matters who coaches this team, as long as that culture persists.

It's also why certain coaches will never work for Jerry. We get first job guys (Garrett) or guys desperate for another chance (Wade, McCarthy). Big time coaches have options.

These players aren't stupid. They know who runs the show and signs their checks, and it's not the HC. I feel our only hope is Jerry gets tired of losing and toughens up and starts kicking the players' butts. Until that happens fasten seatbelts for the ongoing roller coaster of inconsistency.
